VIDEOՓետրվարի 2-3-ը Վաշինգտոնում անցկացվում է ամենամյա Միջազգային կրոնական ազատության գագաթնաժողովը (International Religious Freedom Summit)։ Գագաթաժողովին ելույթ է ունեցել նաև փաստաբան Արամ Վարդևանյանը: «Ելույթի ընթացքում, հենց այն պահին, երբ ներկայացնում էի Արցախում իրականացված էթնիկ զտման հանգամանքները, երբ ավելի քան 120000 մեր հայրենակիցներ ստիպված եղան լքել իրենց տները, հարազատների գերեզմանները՝ զրկվելով նաև եկեղեցիներ ու վանքեր այցելելու հնարավորությունից, Ուկրաինայից ժամանած մի պատվիրակություն ամեն կերպ փորձում էր խոչընդոտել ելույթս։ Կարող եմ ասել, որ, բնականաբար, այն որևէ ազդեցություն չունեցավ, և ինչպես պատկերացրել ու նախատեսել էի, ներկայացրի Արցախի մեր հայրենակիցների խղճի և կրոնի ազատության երաշխիքների ամբողջական արգելափակման փաստերը, ինչպես նաև Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում կառավարության կողմից Հայ Առաքելական Սուրբ Եկեղեցու նկատմամբ ակնհայտ ապօրինի միջամտությունների, ներքին գործերին խառնվելու բոլոր այդ գործողությունները»,- Alpha News-ի հետ զրույցում նշել է Վարդևանյանը։
Փաստաբանը ներկայացրել է նաև ազգային բարերար Սամվել Կարապետյանի նկատմամբ տեղի ունեցող ապօրինությունները։ «Ներկայացրի նաև քաղաքական հետապնդումների փաստերը։ Բոլոր շեշտադրումները, որոնք արդեն իսկ բարձրաձայնվել էին նախկինում, կրկին ներկայացվեցին այդ հարթակից։ Հատուկ ուզում եմ ընդգծել, որ բոլոր ներկայացված հանգամանքները զուգահեռաբար ուղեկցվում էին Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը որպես ֆանտաստիկ երկիր ներկայացնելով, մեր հայրենակիցները և մեր ազգը նկարագրվեցին որպես իսկապես նվիրյալ, աշխատասեր և տաղանդավոր ժողովուրդ։ Միևնույն ժամանակ, կարևոր էր շեշտել, որ Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում առկա են քաղաքական հետապնդումների բազմաթիվ դեպքեր։ Բայց, դա չի նշանակում, որ Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը որպես պետություն մեղավորության բաժին ունի այդ ամենում։ Խոսքը վերաբերում է օրվա իշխանություններին, որոնք ապահովում են այդ քաղաքական հետապնդումները։ Միևնույն ժամանակ, մենք ունենք հասարակություն, որը դեմ է այդ ամենին, չի հանդուրժում և համերաշխ չէ այդ ամենի հետ»,- եզրափակել է Վարդևանյանը։
