Դավոսում ընթացող Համաշխարհային տնտեսական ֆորումի շրջանակներում Հանրապետության նախագահ Վահագն Խաչատուրյանը հանդիպել է Կարմիր խաչի միջազգային կոմիտեի նախագահ Միրյանա Սպոլյարիչ Էգերի հետ։ Այս մասին հայտնում են նախագահի աշխատակազմից:
Հանդիպման ընթացքում քննարկվել են անհետ կորածների, գերիների և այլ պահվող անձանց հետ կապված խնդիրները, ինչպես նաև հումանիտար բնույթի մի շարք հարցեր։
Նախագահ Խաչատուրյանը կարևորել է Կարմիր խաչի միջազգային կոմիտեի հետ սերտ և շարունակական համագործակցությունը՝ ընդգծելով դրա առանցքային դերը հումանիտար ճգնաժամերի հաղթահարման, տուժած բնակչության պաշտպանության և միջազգային հումանիտար իրավունքի պահպանման գործում։
Զրույցի ընթացքում Հանրապետության նախագահը նշել է, որ գերիների և այլ պահվող անձանց վերադարձի, ինչպես նաև անհետ կորածների ճակատագրի պարզաբանման ուղղությամբ իրականացվող աշխատանքը կարևոր նշանակություն ունի՝ շեշտելով այս ուղղությամբ համատեղ ջանքերի առավել ակտիվացման անհրաժեշտությունը։ Ընդգծվել է, որ մարդասիրական խնդիրների լուծումը պետք է լինի առաջնահերթություն։
Հանդիպմանն անդրադարձ է կատարվել նաև տարածաշրջանային զարգացումներին և ընդհանուր իրադրությանը՝ ընդգծելով խաղաղության հաստատման և կայունության ապահովման կարևորությունը։ Այս համատեքստում բարձր է գնահատվել Կարմիր խաչի միջազգային կոմիտեի տարիների ընթացքում իրականացրած հումանիտար գործունեությունը տարածաշրջանում, ինչպես նաև ընդհանրապես հակամարտությունների պայմաններում Կարմիր խաչի կարևոր դերը՝ մարդկային կյանքեր փրկելու և մարդկային ճակատագրերը պաշտպանելու գործում։
