Սիրիական զորքերը շաբաթ օրն անցել են երկրի հյուսիսային գյուղերով՝ այնտեղից քուրդ զինյալների համաձայնեցված դուրսբերումից հետո, սակայն բախումներ են սկսվել, քանի որ բանակը շարունակել է առաջխաղացումը դեպի քրդերի վերահսկած տարածքներ, տեղեկացրել է Reuters-ը։
Մի քանի օր շարունակ սիրիական զորքերը կենտրոնացել էին Եփրատ գետի արեւմուտքում գտնվող մի շարք գյուղերի շուրջ՝ կոչ անելով այնտեղ տեղակայված եւ քրդերի գլխավորած Սիրիական ժողովրդավարական ուժերին (SDF) տեղակայել իրենց ուժերը հակառակ ափում։
Նախորդ երեկոյան SDF-ի առաջնորդ Մազլում Աբդին հայտնել էր, որ իր ուժերը շաբաթ առավոտյան վաղ դուրս կգան՝ որպես բարի կամքի ժեստ, թողնելով գետը արեւմուտքում գտնվող սիրիական կառավարական ուժերի եւ արեւելքում գտնվող քրդական ուժերի միջեւ։
Սակայն շաբաթ օրը մի քանի քաղաքներում եւ նավթահանքերում բախումներ տեղի ունեցան, քանի որ SDF-ը եւ սիրիական բանակը միմյանց մեղադրեցին համաձայնագիրը խախտելու մեջ, իսկ քրդական իշխանությունները պնդում էին, որ սիրիական զորքերը ներխուժել են դուրսբերման համաձայնագրում չներառված քաղաքներ։
Զինվորականների հայտարարությունների համաձայն՝ սիրիական զորքերը համեմատաբար անարգել մտել են Դեյր Հաֆեր գլխավոր քաղաք եւ մոտակա գյուղեր, որոնց բնակիչները հիմնականում արաբներ են։ Վերջին օրերին որոշ բնակիչներ լքել են քաղաքը սիրիական բանակի ստեղծած մարդասիրական միջանցքով, բայց նրանք, ովքեր մնացել էին, տոնել են բանակի ժամանումը։
SDF-ի ուժերը նահանջել են արեւելք, ոմանք՝ ոտքով, դեպի թեժ կետ՝ Թաբքա քաղաք, որը գտնվում է գետի հոսանքն ի վար, բայց դեռեւս գետի արեւմտյան ափին են, նշել է տարածքում աշխատող Reuters-ի թղթակիցը։ Բայց երբ սիրիական բանակը հայտարարել է, որ հաջորդը մտադիր է գրավել Թաբքան, SDF-ում հայտնել են, որ դա սկզբնական գործարքով նախատեսված չէ, եւ որ իրենք կպայքարեն քաղաքը, ինչպես նաեւ դրա շուրջ գտնվող նավթահանքերը պահելու համար։
Սիրիական բանակը հայտնել է, որ իր չորս զինվորները զոհվել են քուրդ զինյալների հարձակումների հետեւանքով, մինչդեռ SDF-ը հայտարարել է, որ իրենց մի քանի զինվորներ են զոհվել, սակայն չի նշել զոհերի թիվը։
Սիրիական անվտանգության ծառայության աղբյուրի խոսքով՝ ԱՄՆ գլխավորած կոալիցիայի ինքնաթիռները թռել են մարտական գործողությունների գոտու քաղաքների վրայով՝ արձակելով նախազգուշական հրթիռներ։ Երկու քրդական աղբյուրների փոխանցմամբ՝ մարտական գործողությունները դադարեցնելու համար ԱՄՆ դեսպան Թոմ Բարաքը շաբաթ օրը մեկնել է Հյուսիսային Իրաքի Էրբիլ քաղաք՝ հանդիպելու Աբդիի եւ Իրաքի քրդերի առաջնորդ Մասուդ Բարզանիի հետ։
