Իրանը ջանքեր է գործադրում ազգային ինտերնետ ստեղծելու համար՝ կառավարության կողմից վերահսկելի ցանցի պարզեցված տարբերակ, որը գործնականում կապ չունի արտաքին աշխարհի հետ, հաղորդել է «The Guardian»-ը՝ հղում անելով իրանցի թվային իրավունքների փորձագետ Ամիր Ռաշիդիին։

«Ոմանք ասում են, որ եթե ամեն ինչ վերադառնա նորմալ հուն, ինտերնետ չի լինի։ Կմնա միայն ազգային ինտերնետ», - նշել է Ռաշիդին։

IRIB լրատվական գործակալությունը հրապարակել է բոլոր այն կայքերի ցանկը, որոնք հասանելի կլինեն Իրանում։ Ցանկում ներառված են ներքին որոնողական համակարգերը, նաև քարտեզագրման և նավիգացիոն ծառայություններ, հաղորդագրությունների հավելվածներ և նույնիսկ ներքին հոսքային ծառայություն՝ Netflix-ի իրանական տարբերակը։

Հրապարակման համաձայն՝ Իրանի արտաքին աշխարհի հետ վերջին փխրուն կապը որոշ բնակիչների համար Starlink տերմինալների միջոցով ինտերնետին միանալու հնարավորությունն է։ Երկրից շատ քիչ էլեկտրոնային տեղեկատվություն է դուրս գալիս, բացառությամբ կառավարության կողմից սպիտակ ցուցակում ընդգրկված բիզնեսների և անհատների կողմից տրամադրվող նվազագույն տրաֆիկի: Ռաշիդիի խոսքով՝ Իրանում կա մոտ 50,000 Starlink տերմինալ: Այլ աղբյուրներ այդ թիվը գնահատում են մինչև 100,000: Այս ծառայության օգտատերերը կազմում են Իրանի 90 միլիոնից ավելի ընդհանուր բնակչության մի փոքր մասը։

Ներկայումս ինտերնետը Իրանում ամբողջությամբ անջատված է: Իշխանությունները այն անջատել են բողոքի ցույցերի ժամանակ՝ կասկածելով արտաքին միջամտություն։
