Первопрестольный Эчмиадзин готов поддержать инициативы по изучению документов о Геноциде армян: Католикос Гарегин II

10 декабря Католикос всех армян Гарегин II в Первопрестольном Эчмиадзине принял немецкого историка Михаэля Хеземанна, прибывшего в Армению для участия в международной конференции «Геноцид: память, признание, предотвращение». На встрече присутствовал также глава Армянской епархии Германии епископ Серовбе Исаханян.

Святейший Патриарх приветствовал визит Михаэля Хеземанна в духовный центр всего армянства и высоко оценил его научный вклад, подчеркнув, что Первопрестольный готов поддержать инициативы, направленные на изучение документов о Геноциде армян, популяризацию христианского наследия и распространение духовных ценностей. Католикос также пригласил Хеземанна выступить с лекциями перед братией Первопрестольного Эчмиадзина и учащимися духовно-образовательных учреждений.

Немецкий историк выразил удовлетворение возможностью посетить Армению и заявил о готовности вернуться и выступить с лекциями в научно-образовательных структурах Первопрестольного Эчмиадзина. Собеседники также обсудили важность религиозной свободы и диалога в современном мире, необходимость всеобщего сотрудничества и объединения усилий ради всеобщего блага, построения мирного и справедливого мира.
