«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.
ng.ru–ն «Փաշինյանը պառակտել է Հայ Եկեղեցին» վերնագրով հոդվածում գրում է, որ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի և Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու (ՀԱԵ) ղեկավարության միջև առճակատումը հասել է նոր մակարդակի։ Հանրապետության ղեկավարը ստացել է ՀԱԵ-ի որոշ բարձրաստիճան ղեկավարների աջակցությունը և նման կերպ կաթվածահար է արել նրա կառավարումը։ Դրա պատճառը Էջմիածնի դիվանատան ղեկավար Արշակ Խաչատրյանի վերաբերյալ կոմպրոմատային տեղեկության հրապարակումն է։ Վերջին վեց ամսվա ընթացքում Փաշինյանը անընդհատ քննադատում է ՀԱԵ-ի ղեկավարին՝ կոչ անելով նրան հրաժարական տալ։ Ի պատասխան՝ Գարեգին Բ-ն փորձել է Էջմիածնում ժողով անցկացնել Գերագույն հոգևոր խորհրդի բոլոր անդամների հետ, սակայն չի կարողացել քվորում ապահովել։ Փաշինյանին աջակցող քահանաները չեն արձագանքել Կաթողիկոսի հրավերին։
Կովկասի ինստիտուտի գիտաշխատող Հրանտ Միքայել յանի խոսքով, Փաշինյանը եկեղեցու ներսում խնդիրներ չի հորինում, այլ հմտորեն շահագործում է եղածները։ «Ավանդաբար Կաթողիկոսն ընտրվում է ցմահ։ Սակայն Հայաստանի պատմությունը միշտ բարդ է եղել։ Հիվանդությունները, պատերազմները և այլ խնդիրները խանգարել են որևէ մեկ անձի երկար ժամանակ կառավարել, ուստի Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու ղեկավարի մասին շատ բողոքներ չեն եղել։ Մյուս կողմից՝ Գարեգին Բ-ն իշխանության գլուխ է արդեն 26 տարի։ Այս ընթացքում նա ձեռք է բերել տարբեր կապեր, սիրելիներ և այլն։ Իսկ դա ոչ բոլոր քահանաներին է դուր գալիս։ Բացի այդ, ոմանք նաև կցանկանային ղեկավարել Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցին», - բացատրել է Միքայել յանը։
Արդյունքում, Փաշինյանը կարողացել է Եկեղեցու և Հայաստանի կառավարության միջև հակամարտությունը վերածել ներքին եկեղեցական դիմակայության, որտեղ վարչապետը աջակցում է Կաթողիկոսի դեմ ընդդիմությանը։ «Գարեգին Բ-ն հայտնվել է բավականին դժվարին իրավիճակում։ Հայաստանի եպիսկոպոսների մոտ կեսը հրապարակավ արտահայտվել է նրա դեմ։ Բացի դա, Կաթողիկոսի որոշ կողմնակիցներ բանտում են։ Այս խնդիրը այլևս հնարավոր չէ լուծել նրան կարգալույծ անելով։ Ինչ վերաբերում է ընդդիմադիր կուսակցություններին, ապա նրանց համար այժմ ավելի դժվար կլինի եկեղեցական սկանդալը օգտագործել Փաշինյանի դեմ։ Մեթոդաբանորեն նա մոտ 70 տարով առաջ է նրանցից», - եզրափակել է Միքայել յանը։
