Պեղումների արդյունքում Կեչառիսի վանական համալիրում հայտնաբերվել է վաղմիջնադարյան եկեղեցի

Հնագետ, պատմաբան Տիգրան Ալեքսանյանը հայտնում է․
«Կեչառիսի վանքային համալիրի Կաթողիկե եկեղեցու շրջակայքը միշտ տեսել ենք հարթ և կանաչապատ, եկեղեցի տանող ճեմուղիներով, որոնք մի քանի անգամ նորոգվել են՝ 1950-ական, 1980-ական, 2000-ական թթ.։ Վերջերս Վարդանյան և Մկրտչյան ընտանիքների նախաձեռնությամբ մեկնարկել են տարածքի բարեկարգման աշխատանքներ, որոնց շրջանակում նախատեսվում էր փոխել նաև դեֆորմացված ճեմուղիները։
Սակայն հողային աշխատանքների հենց սկզբում բացվել են տապանաքարեր, որի պատճառով աշխատանքները դադարեցվել են և սկսվել են հնագիտական ուսումնասիրություններ (հնագետներ՝ Հ. Բադալյան, Տ. Ալեքսանյան)։ Դրանց արդյունքները գերազանցեցին բոլոր սպասելիքները։ Կաթողիկե եկեղեցու հարավային և արևմտյան մասում բացվեց արձանագիր և հարթ տապանաքարերով միջնադարյան ընդարձակ գերեզմանոց։ Սակայն ամենամեծ արդյունքը եղավ Կաթողիկեի արևմտյան կողմում, հողի հաստ շերտի տակ պահպանված վաղմիջնադարյան եկեղեցու հայտնաբերումը։ Այն կառուցված է տուֆով, իր հորինվածքով պատկանում է քառախորան, կենտրոնագմբեթ եկեղեցիների տիպին և թվագրվում է 6-7-րդ դդ.։
Սա վանքային համալիրի տարածքում պահպանված ամենահին կառույցն է, որի մասին մինչ օրս ոչ մի տեղեկություն չկար։ Բուն եկեղեցու պեղումներն ավարտվել են, սակայն տարածքը որոշ ժամանակ կշարունակի մնալ փակ, քանզի մոտ օրերին կսկսվեն նաև նորահայտ եկեղեցին ժամանակավոր ծածկի տակ առնելու աշխատանքները՝ տեղումներից պաշտպանելու և հնարավոր փլուզումներից խուսափելու նպատակով։
Շնորհակալություն մեկենասներին լայնածաված պեղումները ֆինանսավորելու համար, ովքեր սիրահոժար պատրաստակամություն են հայտնել հոգալ նաև եկեղեցու ամրակայման և ամբողջ տարածքի բարեկարգման ծախսերը»։
