Դուբայում շահագործման են հանձնվել նոր արևային կայաններ, որոնք ուղղված են կենտրոնացված սառեցման համակարգում ածխածնային հետքի նվազեցմանը։ Նախագիծը իրականացվել է «արևային վարձակալության» ձևաչափով, ինչը հնարավորություն է տալիս ներգրավել մասնավոր ներդրումներ՝ առանց օպերատորի կապիտալ ծախսերի։

Չորս արևային օբյեկտների հզորությունը կազմում է 1.2 ՄՎտ, իսկ կանխատեսվող տարեկան արտադրությունը՝ շուրջ 1.5 միլիոն կՎտ·ժ էներգիա։ Սա կօգնի տարեկան մոտ 600 տոննա CO₂ արտանետման կրճատմանը, ինչը համարժեք է շուրջ 100 տնային տնտեսության տարեկան էներգասպառմանը։ Կայանները տեղակայված են տանիքներին, ավտոկայանատեղիների տաղավարներին, ջերմային էներգիայի պահպանման տարաներին, ինչպես նաև ուղղահայաց ճակատներին՝ ինչը բարձրացնում է գեներացիայի արդյունավետությունը խիտ քաղաքային կառուցապատման պայմաններում։

Ֆինանսական մոդելի համաձայն՝ ներդրողը պատասխանատու է օբյեկտների կառուցման և հետագա շահագործման համար։ Նախագծի մասնակիցների գնահատմամբ՝ սա նվազեցնում է էլեկտրաէներգիայի գնման ծախսերը, բարձրացնում է ծախսերի կանխատեսելիությունը և կարող է մասշտաբավորվել այլ տարածքներում։ Նախաձեռնությունը համահունչ է Դուբայի մինչև 2050 թ. մաքուր էներգետիկայի զարգացման ռազմավարությանը և ԱՄԷ-ի ածխածնային չեզոքության նպատակներին։ Նախագծի մասնակիցները նշում են, որ վերականգնվող էներգիայի ինտեգրումը քաղաքի սառեցման համակարգերում կթույլատրի արագացնել անցումը դեպի ավելի կայուն քաղաքային ենթակառուցվածք։
