Քարտեզներ, որոնք փոխել են աշխարհը․ ինչպես է 1525թ․ Աստվածաշնչի սխալ սխեման ձեւավորել ժամանակակից սահմանները

Քեմբրիջի համալսարանի գիտնականները հայտնել են, որ Աստվածաշնչի առաջին տարբերակը՝ Սուրբ հողի քարտեզով, որը հրապարակվել է 500 տարի առաջ, մինչ այժմ ազդում է այն բանի վրա, թե ինչպես են մարդիկ պատկերացնում պետությունների սահմանները։
1525թ․ հրատարակության մեջ, որը պատրաստվել է Ցյուրիխում, քարտեզը տպագրվել է «գլխիվայր», այնպես, որ Միջերկրական ծովը ցույց է տրվել արեւելքից, այլ ոչ թե արեւմուտքից։ Թեեւ ժամանակակից քարտեզների համար դա սխալ է, այդ ժամանակ ոչ ոք դա չի նկատել․ աշխարհի այդ հատվածի մասին տեղեկությունը չափազանց քիչ էր։
Այնուամենայնիվ, Աստվածաշնչում այդ քարտեզի ներառումը ճակատագրական է եղել․ այն ստանդարտ է ստեղծել, որով հետագայում շատ հրատարակություններ տեղարդել են քարտեզներ, իսկ աշխարհի տարածական կառուցվածքի՝ նրա տարածքային սահմանների ընդհանուր ընկալումը սկսել է ձեւավորվել հենց այդ վաղ պատկերների ազդեցության տակ։
Նոր հոդվածում, որը հրապարակվել է The Journal of Theological Studies ամսագրում, պրոֆեսոր Նաթան Մակդոնալդը հավաստիացնում է․ աստվածաշնչյան տարածքների վերատպագրված սահմանները, որոնք պատկերված են 1525թ․ քարտեզի վրա, դարձել են կարեւոր տարր ամրագրված սահմաններով պետության գաղափարի էվոլյուցիայում։
Նրա խոսքով՝ հենց այդ քարտեզն է մշակութային փոխակերպման հիմք հանդիսացել․ ավելի վաղ Աստվածաշունչը ընկալվել է որպես հոգեւոր տեքստ՝ առանց ստույգ աշխարհագրական սահմանների, իսկ 1525-ից հետո միլիոնավոր ընթերցողներ սկսել են դրանում տեսնել մի ինչ-որ «հրահանգ» աշխարհակարգի վերաբերյալ՝ տարածքների բաժանմամբ եւ հողի սեփականության իրավունքով։
Այսպիսով, առաջին հայացքից պատմական անաքրոնիզմ թվացող տարրը՝ քարտեզի ոչ ճիշտ կողմնորոշումը, դարձել է ամենաազդեցիկ «տպագրական պատահականություններից» մեկը պատմության մեջ․ այն օգնել է ձեւավորել պատկերացում սահմանների մասին, որը սովորական է ժամանակակից աշխարհում։
