Հայ Առաքելական Եկեղեցու դեմ փաշինյանական իշխանությունների ապօրինությունները սկսել են մտահոգել նույնիսկ արևմտյան երկրներին, որոնք հստակ հասկանում են, որ եկեղեցու դեմ գործողությունները կարող են խաթարել ոչ միայն իշխանության հիմքերը, այլև Արևմուտքի հեղինակությունը ՀՀ քաղաքացիների շրջանում։ Ամենից տարօրինակը երեկ Մեծ Բրիտանիայից հնչած հայտարարությունն էր։ Եվրոպայի և Հյուսիսային Ամերիկայի հարցերով պետնախարար Սթիվեն Դաութին, պատասխանելով Շոտլանդիայից ընտրված պատգամավոր Բրենդան Օ՛Հարայի հարցին, ասել է, թե «Միացյալ Թագավորությունը հետևում է Հայաստանի կառավարության և Հայ Առաքելական Եկեղեցու միջև ստեղծված կացությանը»։

«Մենք ակնկալում ենք, որ բոլոր գործողությունները կհամապատասխանեն Հայաստանի Սահմանադրությանը և օրենսդրությանը՝ պատշաճ դատավարության ընթացք և արդարացի վերաբերմունք ապահովելով բոլորի համար։ Ակնկալում ենք նաև, որ դատական գործընթացները կմնան թափանցիկության և անաչառության շրջանակներում», - հայտարարել է բրիտանացի նախարարը։ Դաութիի խոսքով՝ «Մեծ Բրիտանիայի կառավարությունը շարունակում է վճռականորեն հանձնառու լինել ամբողջ աշխարհում կրոնի և համոզմունքի ազատության իրավունքի խթանմանն ու պաշտպանությանը»։

Դաութին քաջատեղյակ է Հայաստանում կատարվող իրադարձություններին, սովորաբար նա է հանդիպումներ ունենում ՀՀ պաշտոնյաների հետ, հարցեր քննարկում, ուստի հրաշալի հասկանում է այդ ամենի հետևանքները։ Հատկապես որ ավանդաբար Ադրբեջանի հետ սերտորեն գործակցած պաշտոնական Լոնդոնի նկատմամբ Հայաստանում կասկածամտության լուրջ հիմքեր կան։ Միգուցե այս հայտարարությամբ փորձում է շահել ընդդիմության ու քաղաքական դաշտի համակրանքը՝ պարզ գիտակցելով, որ Փաշինյանի իշխանությունն ապագա չունի, իսկ նոր իշխանությունների հետ կապեր հաստատելու խնդիր է ծագելու։ Ամեն դեպքում Լոնդոնից հնչած այս ահազանգը լուրջ մտահոգության տեղիք է Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի ու իր թիմի համար։
