ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփին RAND Corporation-ի գիտաշխատող Ջենիֆեր Քավանոն առաջարկել է ուկրաինական հակամարտությանը վերջ դնելու արմատական գործողությունների ծրագիր, գրում է Responsible Statecraft-ը։
Քավանոն կարծում է, որ Վաշինգտոնը պետք է Մոսկվային վերջնագիր ներկայացնի. կամ անմիջապես սկսի բանակցություններ գլոբալ անվտանգության հարցերի շուրջ, կամ կորցնի Միացյալ Նահանգների հետ համաձայնության գալու ցանկացած հնարավորություն։ Փորձագետը կարծում է, որ Թրամփի առավելությունը Ռուսաստանի առաջնորդ Վլադիմիր Պուտինի նկատմամբ կայանում է նրանում, որ ամերիկացի նախագահը առաջնահերթություն է տալիս ռազմական գործողությունների դադարեցմանը, այլ ոչ թե խաղաղ կարգավորման կոնկրետ պայմաններին։
