Ռուսաստանի և Միացյալ Նահանգների միջև բանակցություններ են վարվել գերիների հնարավոր նոր փոխանակման վերաբերյալ։ Այս մասին Axios-ին տված հարցազրույցում հայտարարել է Ռուսաստանի ուղղակի ներդրումների հիմնադրամի (RDIF) ղեկավար և Ռուսաստանի նախագահի արտասահմանյան երկրների հետ ներդրումների և տնտեսական համագործակցության հարցերով հատուկ ներկայացուցիչ Կիրիլ Դմիտրիևը։

Հրատարակությունը հաղորդում է, որ Ռուսաստանի քրեակատարողական հիմնարկներում պահվում է առնվազն ութ ԱՄՆ քաղաքացի։ Այս բանտարկյալների հայրենիք վերադարձը նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի համար գլխավոր առաջնահերթություն է, և նման փոխանակումը կարող է նպաստել Կրեմլի ջանքերին՝ կապեր հաստատելու նրա վարչակազմի հետ։

«Ես հանդիպեցի որոշ ամերիկացի պաշտոնյաների և Թրամփի թիմի անդամների հետ՝ որոշ մարդասիրական հարցերի շուրջ, ինչպիսին է, օրինակ, հնարավոր գերիների փոխանակումը, որի վրա աշխատում է ամերիկյան կողմը», - ասել է Դմիտրիևը:
