ԵԱՏՄ-ից դուրս գալը մեծ հարված է հասցնելու Հայաստանի տնտեսությանը։ Նման դիտարկում են անում փորձագիտական տարբեր շրջանակներ՝ հավելելով, որ այսպիսի զարգացումների դեպքում Հայաստանը կկորցնի արտահանման ծավալների մեծ մասը։ Ի դեպ, տարբեր տվյալների համաձայն՝ վերջին տարիներին ԵԱՏՄ արտահանումը հնգապատկվել է։ 
 
Քաղաքագետ Սուրեն Սուրենյանցը Euromedia24-ի հետ զրույցում նշում է՝ ԵԱՏՄ-ից դուրս գալը կոլապսի է ենթարկելու ՀՀ տնտեսությունը, ինչն էլ իր հերթին լուրջ սոցիալական ճգնաժամ է առաջացնելու. «Ես հույս ունեմ՝ Հայաստանի իշխանությունները նման արկածախնդրության չեն գնա, քանի որ սրա հետեւանքով հազարավոր մարդիկ զրկվելու են աշխատատեղերից, սոցիալական այնպիսի լարվածություն է լինելու, որի հետեւանքները փոխհատուցել չի լինելու: 
 
Մեր տնտեսության մեծ մասը կողմնորոշված է դեպի ԵԱՏՄ շուկա, ուղղակի անմիտ քայլ կլինի դրանից հրաժարումը»,-նշում է Սուրենյանցը ՀՀ ԱԺ նախկին փոխխոսնակ Էդուարդ Շարմազանովն էլ պնդում է՝ հայկական ապրանքների արտահանման ամենաապահով շուկան ԵԱՏՄ-ն է, որին այլընտրանք այս պահին չկա: «ԵԱՏՄ-ից դուրս գալու խոսակցությունները ոչ միայն չեմ բխում ՀՀ շահերից, այլ նաեւ քաղաքական շառլատանութուն են: Հայաստանի գյուղատնտեսական ապրանքների արտահանման առյուծի բաժինը ռուսական եւ եվրասիական շուկայինն է: 
 
Ես ուզում եմ հարց տալ՝ հայկական կոնյակը, գինին, գյուղատնտեսական եւ այլ ապրանքներ ինչպե՞ս եք իրացնելու: ԵԱՏՄ-ն մեծ շուկա է, որը շնչելու հնարավորություն է տալիս հայկական տնտեսությանը, իսկ եթե այդ կառույցից հրաժարվեն՝ դառնալու ենթուրքական տնտեսության կլանման օբյեկտ»,-ասում է Շարմազանովը՝ հավելելով, որ ԵԱՏՄ-ից դուրս գալը հղի է լուրջ վտանգներով: Այսպիսով, տարբեր վերլուծություններ վերահաստատում են՝ Ռուսաստանը մնում է Հայաստանի հիմնական առևտրային գործընկերը՝ կազմելով երկրի արտաքին առևտրի շրջանառության գրեթե կեսը։ Հայկական արտահանման մեծ մասն ուղղվում է ռուսական շուկա։ Մասնագետները պնդում են՝ ԵԱՏՄ-ից դուրս գալը կհանգեցնի շուկաների, աշխատատեղերի և սոցիալական կայունության կորստի Հայաստանի համար
