Իրաքը կիրակի օրը Թուրքիայի հետ համաձայնագիր է ստորագրել, ըստ որի՝ ջրային ենթակառուցվածքների նախագծերը, որոնք կիրականացվեն թուրքական ընկերությունների կողմից, կֆինանսավորվեն նավթի վաճառքից ստացված եկամուտներից, հայտնում է Reuters-ը՝ վկայակոչելով թուրք պաշտոնյային։
Իրաքի վարչապետի գրասենյակի հայտարարության մեջ ասվում է, որ երկու երկրները ստորագրել են ջրային ռեսուրսների ոլորտում համագործակցության համաձայնագրի իրականացման մեխանիզմի մասին համաձայնագիրը, որը նրանք ստորագրել էին անցյալ տարի։
Մեխանիզմի մանրամասները չեն հաղորդվում։ Իրաքի կառավարությունը ջրային ենթակառուցվածքների նախագծերի կոմիտե կստեղծի և թուրքական ընկերություններին կառաջարկի մասնակցել դրանց իրականացման մրցույթներին, ընդ որում նախագծերի վճարումները կֆինանսավորվեն Թուրքիային իրաքյան նավթի վաճառքից ստացված եկամուտներից, հայտնել է թուրք պաշտոնյան։
Իրաքի ջրային ռեսուրսների վարչության ներկայացուցչի հաղորդմամբ, համաձայնագրի շրջանակում սպասվող նախագծերի սկզբնական փաթեթը ներառում է ջուր հավաքելու երեք ամբարտակների նախագծեր և հողերի ոռոգման երեք նախաձեռնություն։ Ջրային ռեսուրսների վերաբերյալ սկզբնական շրջանակային համաձայնագիրը ստորագրվել է 2024 թվականի ապրիլին՝ Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի Բաղդադ կատարած այցի ժամանակ, ինչը նշանավորել է երկու հարևանների միջև հարաբերությունների բարելավման նոր փուլ՝ երկար տարիների լարված հարաբերություններից հետո։
Իրաքում ջրային ռեսուրսների պակասը վաղուց է խնդիր երկու երկրների հարաբերություններում, քանի որ Իրաքի ջրային ռեսուրսների մոտ 70 տոկոսը գալիս է հարևան երկրներից, հատկապես Տիգրիս և Եփրատ գետերով։ Երկու գետերն էլ հոսում են Թուրքիայի տարածքով։
