Luxus-ը, որը շքեղության ներդրումային ընկերություն է, գործարկում է նոր ֆոնդ՝ 2 միլիոն դոլարի նպատակային գնահատմամբ, որը կենտրոնանում է Hermès Birkin և Kelly պայուսակների վրա: WWD-ի տվյալներով՝ Luxus-ը հիմնադրվել է Blackstone-ի նախկին աշխատակից Դանա Աուսլանդերի կողմից և աջակցվում է Christie's-ի կողմից։
«Ներդրողը և հավաքորդը նույն մարդն է», - ասում է Աուսլանդերը ֆոնդի փիլիսոփայության մասին: «Մարդիկ ներդրումներ են կատարում անշարժ գույքի, արվեստի, զարդերի, ժամացույցների մեջ: Կային ֆոնդեր, որոնք նվիրված էին այս կատեգորիաներին, բայց նախկինում ոչ ոք չէր մտածել պայուսակների մասին»։
Մայիսին Աուսլանդերը 1 միլիոն դոլար հավաքեց փորձնական նախագծի համար՝ գնելով 36 Kelly և Birkin պայուսակներ: «Մենք անմիջապես վաճառեցինք դրանք տարբեր հարթակներում», - բացատրեց նա՝ հղում անելով 1stDibs-ին, Sotheby's-ին և Farfetch-ին: Ինը պայուսակ արդեն վաճառվել է՝ 40.9% համախառն եկամտաբերությամբ։
Ֆոնդը նախատեսում է կենտրոնանալ հիմնական գույների՝ սև, շագանակագույն, կապույտ և խորդենի երանգների պայուսակների վրա, քանի որ դրանք ամենաարագն են վաճառվում: Հազվագյուտ և էկզոտիկ մոդելները կավելացվեն ավելի ուշ։
Աուսլանդերը ձեռքի պայուսակները համարում է Վեբլենի ապրանքներ. որքան թանկ և հազվագյուտ են դրանք, այնքան մեծ է պահանջարկը: Օրինակ՝ Jane Birkin-ի օրիգինալ պայուսակը հուլիսին Փարիզում վաճառվել է ավելի քան 10 միլիոն դոլարով։
