Ստամբուլի կալանավորված քաղաքապետ Էքրեմ Իմամօղլուն կիրակի օրը հարցաքննվել է քաղաքի գլխավոր դատարանում՝ լրտեսության հնարավոր մեղադրանքների վերաբերյալ վերջերս սկսված քննության շրջանակում, հաղորդում է Associated Press-ը։

Հարյուրավոր աջակիցներ հավաքվել են դատարանի շենքի առջև՝ աջակցություն հայտնելու ընդդիմադիր քաղաքական գործիչ Իմամօղլուին, որը համարվում է Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի մրցակիցներից մեկը։ Լրտեսության գործով քննությունը, որը սկսվել է երկու օր առաջ, կենտրոնացած է Իմամօղլուի նախընտրական շտաբի և մի անձի միջև ենթադրյալ կապերի վրա, որը հուլիսին ձերբակալվել էր՝ օտարերկրյա պետությունների օգտին լրտեսություն իրականացնելու մեղադրանքով։

Քննության շրջանակում հարցաքննվել են նաև Իմամօղլուի նախընտրական շտաբի նախկին ղեկավար Նեջաթի Օզքանը և լրագրող Մերդան Յանարդաղը։

Ըստ ընդդիմադիր Cumhuriyet թերթի, Իմամօղլուի հարցաքննությունը տևել է մոտ երեք ժամ։

Կոռուպցիայի մեղադրանքով մարտից  կալանքի տակ գտնվող Իմամօղլուն, որը հերքում է մեղադրանքները, առաջին անգամ վերջին յոթ ամսվա ընթացքում լքել է Ստամբուլի Մարմարա բանտը, որը գտնվում է քաղաքի ծայրամասում։

Քննադատները Իմամօղլուի ձերբակալությունը՝ ինչպես նաև գլխավոր ընդդիմադիր Ժողովրդահանրապետական կուսակցության այլ քաղաքապետերի ձերբակալությունները, դիտարկում են որպես ընդդիմության դեմ ուղղված լայնածավալ ճնշումների մաս։ Ընդդիմությունը նախորդ տարի տեղի ունեցած տեղական ընտրություններում զգալի հաջողություններ էր գրանցել։
