Սլովենիայի ներքին գործերի և արդարադատության նախարարները հրաժարական են տվել կիրակի՝ հոկտեմբերի 26-ին՝ Նովո Մեստոյում տեղի ունեցած ողբերգական միջադեպից հետո, որը հասարակական վրդովմունք է առաջացրել, հաղորդում է Vijesti-ն։

48-ամյա տղամարդը ծեծի է ենթարկվել տեղական ռոմ համայնքի անդամի կողմից և մահացել է ստացած վնասվածքներից։

Ներքին գործերի նախարար Բոշտյան Պոկլյուկարը և արդարադատության նախարար Անդրեյա Կատիչը ստանձնել են պատասխանատվությունը տեղի ունեցածի համար և հրաժարական են ներկայացրել։ Վարչապետ Ռոբերտ Գոլոբը հայտարարել է, որ միջադեպը չպետք է տեղի ունենար և խոստացել է անհապաղ միջոցներ ձեռնարկել իրավիճակը բարելավելու համար։

Ոստիկանության տվյալներով, հարձակման մեջ կասկածվում է 21-ամյա տղամարդ՝ տեղական ռոմ համայնքից։ Դեպքի արձագանքով Սլովենիայի նախագահ Նատաշա Պիրծ Մուսարը պահանջել է Ազգային ժողովի արտահերթ նիստ, իսկ ընդդիմադիր Սլովենական ժողովրդավարական կուսակցության առաջնորդ Յանեզ Յանշան կոչ է արել բողոքի ցույց կազմակերպել Լյուբլյանայում՝ ռոմ համայնքի նկատմամբ իրականացվող քաղաքականության անարդյունավետության դեմ։

Իշխանությունները որոշել են լրացուցիչ ոստիկանական ուժեր ուղարկել Նովո Մեստո և անհրաժեշտության դեպքում՝ հատուկ ստորաբաժանում։ Քաղաքացիները սկսել են հավաքվել քաղաքի կենտրոնում՝ հարգանքի տուրք մատուցելու զոհվածին։
Նովո Մեստոյի միջադեպը սրել է երկարամյա լարվածությունը և մտահոգությունները՝ կապված տեղական ռոմ համայնքին վերագրվող հանցագործությունների և բռնության աճի հետ։
