iz.ru–ն իր «Հայաստանի իշխանությունները մեծացնում են ընդդիմության վրա ճնշումը» վերնագրով հոդվածում գրում է, որ Հայաստանում բռնկվել է կառավարության և ընդդիմության միջև նոր բախում: Հոկտեմբերի 20-ին անվտանգության ուժերը խուզարկություններ են իրականացրել Գյումրու քաղաքապետարանում, որից հետո ձերբակալվել է ընդդիմադիր քաղաքապետ Վարդան Ղուկասյանը: Միաժամանակ, իշխանությունները նոր հարձակում են սկսել հայկական եկեղեցու վրա:

Հայ քաղաքագետ Հրանտ Միքայել յանը նշել է, որ երկրում իրավիճակը սրվում է: «Իշխող կուսակցությունը վեց ամիս առաջ պարտվեց Գյումրու ընտրություններում, բայց չհաշտվեց դրա հետ: Հիմա նրանք փորձում են իրավիճակը շրջել իրենց օգտին ուժի միջոցով: Փաշինյանի թիմը անհաջողություններ է կրում տեղական մակարդակում, բայց հետո վրեժ է լուծում: Այս մարդիկ իրենց եվրոպական ինտեգրման և Թուրքիայի հետ հաշտեցման քաղաքականությունը առաջ են մղում ցանկացած հնարավոր միջոցներով և գործում են առավելագույն կոշտությամբ», - բացատրել է նա:
Ռուսաստանի գիտությունների ակադեմիայի Համաշխարհային տնտեսության և միջազգային հարաբերությունների ինստիտուտի հետխորհրդային հետազոտությունների կենտրոնի Կովկասի սեկտորի գլխավոր հետազոտող Ալեքսանդր Կռիլովն էլ նշել է, որ Հայաստանի իշխանությունները մաքրում են ընդդիմադիր դաշտը։ «Գյումրին կարող էր դառնալ բողոքի ուժերի կենտրոն։ Դա կանխելու համար էլ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը թույլատրել է քաղաքապետի ձերբակալությունը։ Կարծում եմ, որ Վարդան Ղուկասյանը կմնա բանտում առնվազն մինչև հունիսին կայանալիք խորհրդարանական ընտրությունները։ Իսկ եթե նրանց նաև հաջողվի նրա դեմ ինչ-որ բան գտնել, նա երկար ժամանակով կհայտնվի բանտում», - ընդգծել է նա։
Մասնագետը նաև հավելել է, որ, միևնույն ժամանակ, Փաշինյանի հակառակորդները չեն կարողանում կազմակերպել արդյունավետ դիմադրություն։ «Մենք պարզապես տեսանք կիսատ-պռատ բողոքի փորձեր Գյումրիում, որոնք ոչ մի արդյունք չտվեցին։ Մենք հիշում ենք Եկեղեցու առաջնորդների գլխավորած հանրահավաքները անցած տարի, որոնք աստիճանաբար մարեցին։ Մենք նաև ականատես եղանք վերջերս կայացած քաղաքական ընդդիմության երթերին Երևանում, որոնք նույնպես չկարողացան ներգրավել մասնակիցների կրիտիկական զանգված։ Միևնույն ժամանակ, պետք է ընդունել, որ իշխանությունները գործում են բավականին հետևողականորեն։ Կարծում եմ, որ նրանք ունեն բոլոր հնարավորությունները քաղաքական տարածքը մրցակիցներից ամբողջությամբ մաքրելու համար», - նշել է Կռիլովը։
