Հնագետները Սինայի անապատի հյուսիսում հայտնաբերել են 3 500-ամյա կառույցի մնացորդներ, որը, հնարավոր է, օգտագործվել է հին եգիպտական զորքերի եւ նույնիսկ թագավորական շքախմբի կողմից, հաղորդել է Live Science-ը։
Պեղումները կատարվել են Շեյխ Զուվեյդ շրջանում Tell el‑Kharouba վայրում, որը տարածվում է Եգիպտոսից դեպի արեւելք տանող հին ռազմական եւ առեւտրային ճանապարհի երկայնքով։
Հետազոտողների խոսքով՝ կառույցը նման չէ բնակելի շենքի. ներսում հայտնաբերվել են կոտրված խեցեղենի շատ քիչ բեկորներ, ինչը վկայում է այն մասին, որ այն լավ պահպանված է եղել։ Ճարտարապետությունը նույնպես՝ երկու ուղղանկյուն միջանցքներ եւ միացված սենյակներ, վկայում է մարդկանց խմբի, այլ ոչ թե միայն ընտանիքի տեղավորման համար նախատեսված դասավորության մասին։
Կառույցում հայտնաբերված հիերոգլիֆային արձանագրությունը այն կապում է Թութմոս III-ի (մ.թ.ա. մոտ 1479-1425) գահակալության հետ։
Եգիպտոսի զբոսաշրջության եւ հնությունների նախարարությունը նշել է, որ արտեֆակտների թվում են մեծ հացի փուռը եւ քարացած խմորի հետքեր, ինչը վկայում է այն մասին, որ ամրոցում տեղակայված է եղել կայազորի լիարժեք լոգիստիկ բազա՝ սննդի պաշարներով։
Հնագետները նաեւ հայտնաբերել են 18-րդ դինաստիայի սկզբի կավագործական իրերի եւ անոթների բեկորներ, ինչպես նաեւ անոթի բռնակ, որի վրա փորագրված է Թութմոս I փարավոնի անունը։ Հայտնաբերվել են նաեւ հրաբխային քարեր, որոնք, ենթադրաբար, ծովով բերվել են Էգեյան ծովի կղզիներից, ինչը վկայում է հեռավոր առեւտրային եւ լոգիստիկ կապերի մասին։
Շենքի մակերեսը գնահատվում է մոտավորապես 80 00 քառակուսի մետր՝ գրեթե երեք անգամ ավելի մեծ, քան 1980-ականներին նույն վայրում նախկինում հայտնաբերված ամրաշինությունը։ Պեղումները նաեւ բացահայտել են պատի հարավային հատվածը՝ մոտավորապես 105 մետր երկարությամբ եւ 2.5 մետր հաստությամբ, 2.2 մետր լայնությամբ երկրորդական մուտք, 11 պաշտպանական աշտարակներ եւ մոտավորապես 75 մետր երկարությամբ ոլորաձեւ պատ, որը բաժանում է կայազորի ներքին բնակելի տարածքը։ Հետազոտողներն ընդգծել են, որ կառույցը վերակառուցման մի քանի փուլ է անցել, մասնավորապես՝ հարավային մուտքի մոտ, ինչն արտացոլում է դարերի ընթացքում ռազմական տեխնոլոգիաների եւ մարտավարության փոփոխությունները։
Այս հայտնագործությունը ոչ միայն ընդգծում է Հին Եգիպտոսի ռազմական կազմակերպվածությունը Նոր Թագավորության ժամանակաշրջանում, այլեւ ամրապնդում է Սինայի՝ որպես հատկապես կարեւոր ռազմավարական «դարպաս» տարածքի, Աֆրիկայի եւ Ասիայի հատման կետի գաղափարը, որտեղ եգիպտացիները ամրոցների շղթա են կառուցել բանակի ճանապարհի երկայնքով։
