Անբարենպաստ եղանակային պայմանները, որոնք առաջացել են այս տարածաշրջանին բնորոշ ցիկլոնի պատճառով, արդեն իսկ ազդել են ափի զգալի մասի վրա, ներառյալ Վիրջինիան, Մերիլենդը, Դելավերը և Նյու Ջերսին, հաղորդում է NBC News-ը։
Կիրակի առավոտյան ամպրոպային ճակատները հասել են Նյու Յորքի շրջան, իսկ կեսօրին, ինչպես սպասվում է, կհասնեն Բոստոն և Նոր Անգլիայի հարավային մաս։
Այս փոթորիկի հետ կապված գլխավոր վտանգը առափնյա ջրհեղեղներն են։ Ջրհեղեղի մասին նախազգուշացումներ են գործում Արևելյան ափի ամբողջ երկայնքով։ Կանխատեսումների համաձայն՝ ջրի մակարդակը կբարձրանա 60–90 սանտիմետրով, ինչը կարող է հանգեցնել լողափերի էրոզիայի և առափնյա ենթակառուցվածքների վնասման։
Նյու Ջերսիի նահանգապետ Ֆիլ Մերֆին արտակարգ դրություն է հայտարարել, որն ուժի մեջ է մտել շաբաթ երեկոյան՝ ակնկալելով եղանակային պայմանների վատթարացում՝ ուժեղ քամի, հորդառատ անձրևներ (2,5-ից 7,5 սանտիմետր տեղումներ) և լայնածավալ ջրհեղեղներ առափնյա շրջաններում։
ԱՄՆ Ազգային օդերևութաբանական ծառայությունը առափնյա ջրհեղեղների մասին նախազգուշացում է տվել Բրուքլինի, Մանհեթենի և Սթաթեն Այլենդի (Նյու Յորք) համար, որը գործում է կիրակիից մինչև երկուշաբթի։ Ջրի մակարդակը, կանխատեսումների համաձայն, կարող է բարձրանալ 45–75 սանտիմետրով՝ նորմայից բարձր, ինչը կառաջացնի ափի էրոզիա և «խոցելի առափնյա ճանապարհների ու շենքերի լայնածավալ չափավոր ջրհեղեղներ»։
«Խուսափեք ճանապարհորդելուց և ջրհեղեղի ջրերի հետ շփումից»,– նախազգուշացրել է ծառայությունը Նյու Յորքի բնակիչներին։ – «Վեց դյույմ (մոտ 15 սանտիմետր) արագ հոսող ջուրը կարող է մարդուն տապալել, իսկ մեկ ֆուտը (մոտ 30 սանտիմետր) բավական է ավտոմեքենան շարժելու համար։ Ջրում կարող են լինել աղտոտիչներ կամ այլ թաքնված վտանգներ»։
Նյու Յորքի Ազգային օդերևութաբանական ծառայության տվյալներով՝ չափավոր և տեղ-տեղ լայնածավալ ջրհեղեղներ են սպասվում նաև Լոնգ Այլենդի հարավային ափի ծոցերում՝ Նասսո և Սաֆֆոլկի հարավ-արևմտյան շրջաններում՝ կիրակիից մինչև երկուշաբթի մակընթացությունների ժամանակ։
