Հոկտեմբերի 18-ին Կալիֆոռնիայում կկայանա Հայաստանի ամենահզոր կառավարիչներից մեկին՝ Տիգրան II Մեծ թագավորին նվիրված նոր ֆիլմի համաշխարհային պրեմիերան։ Ցուցադրությունը կազմակերպվում է «Միավորված հայեր» կազմակերպության կողմից ՀԲԸՄ Փասադենայի կատարողական արվեստների կենտրոնում (2495 E. Mountain Street, Pasadena), հաղորդում է The Armenian Report-ը։

«Տիգրան Մեծ» ֆիլմը համատեղում է վավերագրական և գեղարվեստական ​​​​տարրեր՝ պատմելու լեգենդար հայ թագավորի մեծության և ժառանգության մասին։ Տիգրան II-ը գահակալել է մ.թ.ա. առաջին դարում՝ վերածելով Հայաստանը «ծովից ծով» ձգվող կայսրության, և հենց այս ժամանակահատվածում է երկիրը հասել քաղաքական և մշակութային ամենամեծ բարգավաճմանը։

Ֆիլմը բացահայտում է թագավորի պայքարն ու նվաճումները, ինչպես նաև նրա նվիրվածությունը իր ժողովրդին։ Ստեղծողները ձգտում են վերակենդանացնել ոչ միայն կառավարչի կերպարը, այլև ազգի ոգին, որը դարերի ընթացքում կրել է նրա հիշատակը։

Ֆիլմի գլխավոր դերում հանդես է գալիս հայտնի դերասան Ալեքսանդր Խաչատրյանը, ռեժիսոր՝ Վահա Վարդանյան, պրոդյուսերներ՝ Տիգրան Մանասյան և Վահե Հակոբյան։ Նրանք այն նկարագրում են որպես ավելին, քան պարզապես ֆիլմ. «Սա հայոց պատմության, մշակույթի և ինքնության անմոռանալի տոնակատարություն է»։

Նախագիծը նպատակ ունի ամրապնդել հայ համայնքի հպարտության զգացումը՝ միաժամանակ համաշխարհային լսարանին ծանոթացնելով Հայաստանի հարուստ անցյալին։
