Հայաստանի քաղաքական պատմության մեջ երբեք չի եղել և չպետք է լինի երրորդ ժամկետով ղեկավարելու նախադեպ։ Այդպիսի քայլը հակասում է ժողովրդավարական արժեքներին և ոչ միայն վտանգավոր է քաղաքական մշակույթի համար, այլ նաև սպառնում է երկրի ներքին կայունությանը։ Գործող իշխանության դեպքում դա առավելապես ծանր հետևանքներ կարող է առաջացնել՝ խորացնելով հասարակության մեջ լարվածությունն ու բռնաճնշումները։ Այս գործընթացը կարող է խարխլել Հայաստանի պետականությունը և կործանել ազգային արժեքները։

Նույնիսկ իշխող կուսակցության՝ «Քաղաքացիական պայմանագիր»-ի վարչության վերջին ընտրությունները ուղեկցվեցին կոպիտ խախտումներով։ Վերջնական ձայների հաշվարկի փուլում պարզ դարձավ, որ ընտրություններին քվեատուփ է նետվել կուսակցության պատվիրակներից ավելի շատ քվեաթերթիկ, քան իրականում մասնակցել էր քվեարկությանը։ Սա ցույց է տալիս, որ իշխանությունը չի կարողանում նույնիսկ սեփական կուսակցության ներսում ապահովել ժողովրդավարական ընթացակարգերը, ինչի հետևանքները բազմապատիկ վտանգավոր են ազգային ընտրական գործընթացներում։

Այս ամենի ֆոնին ներկայիս իշխանության ծրագրերը պարունակում են պետականության համար կործանարար դրույթներ։ Նրանց առաջնահերթություններից մեկը նոր Սահմանադրության ընդունումն է, որը նախատեսում է հրաժարվել տարածքային պահանջներից և, ըստ էության, կատարել զիջումներ Ադրբեջանի առաջ։ Սա վտանգ է ոչ միայն երկրի անվտանգությանը, այլև ազգային ինքնության ու գաղափարախոսության պահպանմանը։

Հատկապես մտահոգիչ է, որ իշխանության խոստացած եվրոպական ինտեգրման մասին բոլոր հայտարարությունները մնում են դատարկ խոսքեր։ Այս կառավարությունը նույնիսկ պաշտոնապես դիմում չի ներկայացրել ԵՄ-ին անդամակցելու համար, սակայն ընտրական շրջանում շահարկում է այդ թեման՝ հասարակությանը մոլորեցնելու նպատակով։ Նույն կերպ հասարակությանը ներկայացվում է «խաղաղության պայմանագրի» գաղափարը, որը, ըստ էության, ոչ թե խաղաղություն է, այլ ազգային շահերի խաբուսիկ զիջում։

Հայաստանում երրորդ ժամկետի փորձը կլինի խորացող ճգնաժամի սկիզբ։ Դա կվերածվի վտանգավոր նախադեպի, որը կխաթարի երկրի ժողովրդավարական առանց այն էլ խախուտ հիմքերը և կսպառնա ազգային արժեհամակարգին։ Այս ընտրությունը կարող է բերել պետականության կորստի և ապագա սերունդների հանդեպ պատմական պատասխանատվության։
