Ադրբեջանը պատրաստ է Հայաստանի հետ հարաբերություններում նոր էջ բացել՝ հիմնվելով տարածքային ամբողջականության և ինքնիշխանության փոխադարձ ճանաչման վրա։ Նման հայտարարություն է արել Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևը։
Նա նաև հայտարարել է, թե ԼՂ հակամարտության կարգավորման համար ստեղծված ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խումբը չկարողացավ կատարել իր առաքելությունը:
Ալիևը նշել է, թե Հայաստանի հետ բանակցությունները տվել են դրական արդյունքներ, քանի որ ընթացել են բացառապես երկկողմ հիմքի վրա։
Նա ասել է, թե Ադրբեջանն առաջ է քաշել «միջազգային իրավունքի վրա հիմնված հինգ հիմնարար սկզբունքներ, ներկայացրել է խաղաղության պայմանագրի նախագիծը»:
Ըստ Ալիևի՝ չնայած տարբեր սադրանքներին ՝ բանակցությունները տվել են դրական արդյունքներ, քանի որ ընթացել են բացառապես երկկողմ հիմքի վրա՝ առանց արտաքին որևէ միջամտության։
Ադրբեջանի նախագահը, խոսելով Վաշինգտոնյան գագաթնաժողովի մասին, նշել է, թե այն կարևոր արդյունքներ է տվել․
«Թրամփի երթուղին կապահովի Զանգեզուրի միջանցքով անարգել անցումը և կամրապնդի տարածաշրջանային կապերը»։
