ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը, անդրադառնալով Ուկրաինայի շուրջ իրավիճակին, հայտարարեց, որ Ռուսաստանի առաջնորդ Վլադիմիր Պուտինը «պետք է կանգ առնի»։ Այդ մասին նա ասաց Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի հետ հանդիպման ընթացքում, գրում է Reuters-ը։
«Կարծում եմ՝ եկել է ժամանակը կանգ առնելու», – նշել է Թրամփը։ Միևնույն ժամանակ, նա մեղմել է իր ավելի վաղ հնչեցրած կոշտ ձևակերպումները Ռուսաստանի հասցեին՝ ընդգծելով, որ այլևս չի օգտագործի «թղթե վագր» արտահայտությունը։ Նա նաև հույս է հայտնել, որ Թուրքիան կխաղա դեր խաղաղ կարգավորման գործընթացում։
Ավելի վաղ վերլուծաբան Գրեգ Սայմոնսը Лента.ру-ի հետ զրույցում նշել էր, որ Թրամփը դիտավորությամբ է սկսել կոշտ խոսել Ռուսաստանի մասին՝ նպատակ ունենալով շահույթ ստանալ Ուկրաինայի և Եվրոպայի հաշվին։ Նրա խոսքով՝ Վաշինգտոնը ծրագրում է զենք վաճառել ԵՄ-ին, որը հետագայում այն կփոխանցի Կիևին։
