Սաուդյան Արաբիայի ԱԳ նախարար Ադել ալ Ջուբեյրը հայտարարել է ԱՄՆ գլխավորած կոալիցիայի կազմում հատուկ նշանակության զորքեր Սիրիա ուղարկելու հնարավորության մասին՝ «Իսլամական պետության» դեմ պայքարելու նպատակով:

Սաուդյան Արաբիայի պաշտպանության նախարարի խորհրդական Ահմեդ Ասիրին օրեր առաջ հայտարարել է, որ իր երկիրը պատրաստ է զորքեր ուղարկել Սիրիայում ցամաքային գործողությունների մասնակցելու համար, բայց պայմանով, որ դա կհամաձայնեցվի ԱՄՆ գլխավորած կոալիցիայի հրամանատարության հետ: Նա ենթադրել է, որ նման որոշում կարող է ընդունվել հաջորդ շաբաթ Բրյուսելում կայանալիք ՆԱՏՕ-ի գագաթաժողովի ժամանակ: Բրիտանական Guardian թերթը՝ վկայակոչելով Սաուդյան աղբյուրները, հայտնել է, որ Էր Ռիադը կարող է Սիրիա ուղարկել մի քանի հազար զինվորականի, հաղորդում է «ՌԻԱ Նովոստին»:

Հիշեցնենք, որ Սիրիայի ԱԳ նախարար Վալիմ Մուալեմը այս առնչությամբ հայտարարել է, որ այն օտարերկրյա զինվորականները, որոնք կներխուժեն Սիրիայի տարածք առանց Դամասկոսի թույլտվության, կարող են հայրենիք վերադառնալ դագաղներում, որովհետեւ ագրեսոր կհամարվեն: «Ցանկացած ցամաքային ներխուխում ՍԻրիայի տարածք առանց Սիրիայի կառավարության համաձայնության, կընկալվի որպես ագրեսիայի ակտ, որին պետք է ընդդիմանա երկրի յուրաքանչյուր քաղաքացի: Ինձ համար ցավալի է դա ասել, բայց նրանք տուն կվերադառնան փայտե դագաղներում»:
