Ուլտրաձայնն առանց վիրահատության. նոր մեթոդը խոստանում է բուժել տրեմորը և ուղեղի հիվանդությունները

Լոնդոնի համալսարանական քոլեջի և Օքսֆորդի համալսարանի գիտնականները ներկայացրել են ուլտրաձայնային նոր սարք, որն առաջին անգամ թույլ է տալիս ճշգրիտ կերպով խթանել ուղեղի խորը հատվածները՝ առանց վիրահատական միջամտության։
Այս ուսումնասիրության արդյունքները հրապարակվել են Nature Communications ամսագրում։
Մինչ այժմ տրանսգանգային ուլտրաձայնային խթանման (TUS) գոյություն ունեցող մեթոդները սահմանափակ ճշգրտություն են ունեցել և կարողացել են ազդել միայն ընդարձակ հատվածների վրա, ինչը նվազեցրել է դրանց գործնական արժեքը։
Նոր սարքը «սաղավարտ» է, որը հագեցած է 256 ուլտրաձայնային ճառագայթիչներով, ինչպես նաև փափուկ պլաստիկ դիմակով՝ գլխի հուսալի ամրացման համար։ Նման կառուցվածքը թույլ է տալիս ուլտրաձայնային ալիքներն ուղղել բարձր կոնցենտրացիայով՝ ապահովելով կենտրոնացում այն գոտիների վրա, որոնք հազարավոր անգամներ ավելի փոքր են, քան թույլ էին տալիս ավանդական սարքերը, և 30 անգամ ավելի փոքր, քան նախորդ անալոգները՝ ուղեղի խորը հատվածների համար։
Փորձի ընթացքում յոթ կամավորներից ընտրվել է թալամուսի փոքր կառուցվածք՝ կողմնային ծնկաձև մարմինը (LGN), որը պատասխանատու է տեսողական տեղեկատվության անցման համար։
Խթանման ընթացքում մասնակիցները դիտել են թարթող շախմատային տախտակ, իսկ ֆունկցիոնալ ՄՌՏ-ն ցույց է տվել տեսողական կեղևի ակտիվության զգալի ուժեղացում, ինչը վկայում է ուլտրաձայնի ճշգրիտ հարվածի մասին անհրաժեշտ հատվածում։ Մեկ այլ փորձում գրանցվել է տեսողական կեղևի ակտիվության կայուն նվազում՝ խթանումից հետո առնվազն 40 րոպեի ընթացքում, ինչը ուղեղի գործառույթների վրա պոտենցիալ երկարաժամկետ ազդեցության նշան է։
Չնայած մասնակիցները սուբյեկտիվ փոփոխություններ չեն նկատել ընկալման մեջ, ուղեղի սքանավորումները հստակորեն գրանցել են նեյրոնների ակտիվության փոփոխություններ։
Հեղինակները ընդգծում են, որ այս մոտեցումը նոր հնարավորություններ է բացում ինչպես ուղեղի գործառույթների հիմնարար ուսումնասիրությունների, այնպես էլ թերապևտիկ մեթոդների մշակման համար, օրինակ՝ ձեռքերի տրեմորի նվազեցման համար։
Պրոֆեսոր Բրեդլի Թրիբեյը նշում է, որ ուղեղի խորը կառուցվածքների վրա առանց վիրահատության ազդելու կարողությունը հեղափոխական փոփոխություն է նշանակում նյարդաբանության և պոտենցիալ նյարդադեգեներատիվ հիվանդությունների բուժման մեջ։
