Վաշինգտոնյան հռչակագրից հետո գրեթե մեկ ամիս է, ինչ հայաստանյան իշխանությունները փորձում են համոզել, թե այդ հռչակագիրը և Ադրբեջանի հետ նախաստորագրված համաձայնագիրը դիվանագիտական լուրջ ձեռքբերում են, և Հայաստանն էլ որևէ միջանցք չի տվել Ադրբեջանին։ Բայց հենց Թիենծինում, Շանհայի համագործակցության կազմակերպության գագաթնաժողովի շրջանակներում, Ադրբեջանի նախագահը պարզապես ծաղրել է Հայաստանին՝ կրկին խոսելով «Զանգեզուրի միջանցքի» մասին։

«Ես վստահ եմ, որ «Զանգեզուրի միջանցքը» շուտով կդառնա Միջին միջանցքի, ինչպես նաև «Հյուսիս-հարավ» միջանցքի ևս մեկ կարևոր հատված, որը կնպաստի խաղաղության և բազմակողմ համագործակցության ամրապնդմանը, որն օգուտ կբերի Ադրբեջանի արևելյան, արևմտյան, հյուսիսային և հարավային մոտ ու հեռավոր երկրներին», – հայտարարել է Ալիևը։

Վերջինիս պատասխանելու խղճուկ փորձ է արել Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը։ «Ադրբեջանի նախագահի կողմից օգտագործվող բառապաշարը մեր կողմից չի ընկալվում այն տրամաբանության մեջ, որը մենք համաձայնեցրել ենք Վաշինգտոնում», – ասել է Փաշինյանը և հավելել. «Մանավանդ, որ այդ համաձայնությունների շրջանակներում Հայաստանն ու ԱՄՆ-ն կիրականացնեն հաղորդակցության ներդրումային ծրագիրը, որը կոչվում է «Թրամփի ուղի՝ հանուն միջազգային խաղաղության և բարգավաճման»։ Այս ծրագիրը բխում է Հայաստանի Հանրապետության «Խաղաղության խաչմերուկ» նախագծից, որի վերաբերյալ Հայաստանը և ԱՄՆ-ը ստորագրեցին երկկողմ հուշագիր՝ այդ նախագիծը զարգացնելու և ներդրումներ անելու ուղղությամբ»։

Գործող իշխանության պարագլխի այս հայտարարությունն ամենևին էլ լուրջ չի ընկալվում։ Թե՛ Ադրբեջանը, թե՛ Թուրքիան անընդհատ շեշտում են «Զանգեզուրի միջանցք» տերմինը։ Նրանց համար «Թրամփի ուղի» որպես այդպիսին գոյություն չունի, և ըստ էության հենց դա է իրականությունը։ Այն, որ Հայաստանի իշխանությունները գեղեցիկ բառերի ետևում փորձում են փաթեթավորել Ադրբեջանին միջանցք տրամադրելու իրենց քայլը, որևէ մեկը չի էլ կասկածում։ Բայց Ալիևը, օրինակ, կարող էր աջակցել իր խամաճիկին՝ վերջինիս ևս մեկ անգամ անհեթեթ դրության մեջ չդնելով։

Փաստն այն է, որ ՀՀ իշխանությունները միջանցք են տվել Ադրբեջանին՝ դրանից բխող բոլոր բացասական հետևանքներով։
