Այսօր սեպտեմբերի 1-ն է, Գիտելիքի, գրի եւ դպրության օրը: Հայաստանի դպրոցներում եւ այլ ուսումնական հաստատություններում վերսկսվել են դասերը:

Սեպտեմբերի 1-ն աշխարհում, այդ թվում՝ Հայաստանում նշում են որպես Գիտելիքի միջազգային օր։

Սեպտեմբերի 1-ը նոր ուսումնական տարվա մեկնարկի տոնն է առաջին հերթին աշակերտների, ուսանողների, ուսուցիչների եւ դասախոսների համար։ Ավանդաբար այդ օրը դպրոցներում հանդիսավոր արարողություններ են ընթանում՝ նվիրված նոր ուսումնական տարվան։ Հատուկ հանդիսությամբ դպրոցներում ընդունում են առաջին դասարանցիների։

Տոնը նշվում է 1984 թվականից, հաստատվել է ԽՍՀՄ Բարձրագույն խորհրդի նախագահության՝ հունիսի 15-ի № 373-11 «Սեպտեմբերի 1-ը համաժողովրդական տոն՝ Գիտելիքի օր հայտարարելու մասին» հրամանագրով:

Սեպտեմբերի 1-ը՝ որպես Գիտելիքի օր, նշում են Հայաստանում, Բելառուսում, Ռուսաստանում, Ուկրաինայում, Մոլդովայում, Ղազախստանում, Թուրքմենստանում, ինչպես նաև՝ Չեխիայում և Մերձբալթյան երկրներում։

Սեպտեմբերի 1-ին ուսումնական տարին սկսելու ավանդույթը հին ակունքներ ունի: 4-րդ դարում՝ 325 թվականի մայիսի 20-ին, Բյութանիայի Նիկիա քաղաքում բյուզանդական կայսր Կոստանդիանոս Ա Մեծի հրամանով գումարվել է Նիկիայի Ա տիեզերական ժողովը, որտեղ որոշում կայացվեց նոր տարին սկսել սեպտեմբերի մեկից։

Ըստ ավանդության՝ Արիստակեսը Հայաստան է բերում Նիկիական ժողովի որոշումները և ներկայացնում Գրիգոր Լուսավորչին։ Վերջինս դրանք ներմուծում է Հայ եկեղեցու դավանաբանության և ծիսակարգի մեջ։ Եվ քանի որ այդ ժամանակաշրջանում բոլոր դպրոցները գործում էին եկեղեցիներին կից, նոր ուսումնական տարին ևս սկսեցին նշել սեպտեմբերի մեկին:
