ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի վարչակազմը առաջ է մղում Պաշտպանության նախարարությունը «Պատերազմի նախարարություն» վերանվանելու նախաձեռնությունը, գրում է The Wall Street Journal-ը՝ վկայակոչելով Սպիտակ տան պաշտոնյային։
Կառավարության ամենամեծ գերատեսչության համար «Պատերազմի նախարարություն» անվան վերականգնումը, ամենայն հավանականությամբ, կպահանջի Կոնգրեսի միջամտությունը, սակայն Սպիտակ տունը ուսումնասիրում է այլընտրանքային մեթոդներ՝ այդ փոփոխությունն իրականացնելու համար, նշվում է հոդվածում։
Ֆլորիդայից Հանրապետական կուսակցության կոնգրեսական Գրեգ Սթյուբը փոփոխություն է առաջարկել պաշտպանության քաղաքականության տարեկան օրինագծում, որը նախատեսում է նախարարության անվան փոփոխություն՝ վկայելով, որ Կոնգրեսում որոշ հանրապետականներ աջակցում են նախաձեռնությանը։
Սպիտակ տունը մանրամասներ չի հայտնել, սակայն ուշադրություն է հրավիրել Թրամփի այս շաբաթվա մեկնաբանություններին, որոնցում ընդգծվել են ԱՄՆ զինված ուժերի հարձակողական հնարավորությունները։
«Ինչպես ասել է նախագահ Թրամփը, մեր զինված ուժերը պետք է կենտրոնանան հարձակման վրա, ոչ միայն պաշտպանության։ Ահա թե ինչու նա գերադասեց մարտիկներին Պենտագոնում, այլ ոչ թե DEI գաղափարախոսությունը։ Հետևեք նորություններին», – հայտարարել է Սպիտակ տան մամուլի քարտուղար Աննա Քելլին՝ DEI հապավումը օգտագործելով բազմազանության, արդարության և ներառականության ծրագրերի համար։
Թրամփը «Պատերազմի նախարարություն» անվան գաղափարը ներկայացրել է երկուշաբթի՝ Օվալաձև գրասենյակում լրագրողների հետ զրույցի ժամանակ՝ նշելով, որ «դա պարզապես ինձ ավելի համապատասխան թվաց»։
«Ավելի վաղ այն կոչվում էր Պատերազմի նախարարություն, և դա հնչում էր ավելի համոզիչ, – ասել է Թրամփը։ – Մենք ուզում ենք պաշտպանություն, բայց նաև ուզում ենք հարձակում... Որպես ռազմական նախարարություն՝ մենք հաղթել ենք ամեն ինչում, մենք հաղթել ենք բացարձակապես ամեն ինչում, և կարծում եմ՝ պետք է վերադառնանք դրան»։
Պատերազմի նախարարությունը աստիճանաբար վերանվանվել է Պաշտպանության նախարարություն՝ սկսած 1947 թվականի Ազգային անվտանգության մասին օրենքից, որը միավորել է բանակը, ռազմածովային և ռազմաօդային ուժերը՝ մեկ կառույցի՝ Ազգային ռազմական գերատեսչության շրջանակում։ Օրենքում 1949 թվականին կատարված փոփոխությունը պաշտոնապես հաստատել է «Պաշտպանության նախարարություն» անվանումը՝ ձևավորելով ներկայումս գործող կառուցվածքը։
