Վերջին մեկուկես ամսվա ընթացքում Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը պարզապես դադար էր հայտարարել հակաեկեղեցական իր արշավում, և ընդհանրապես չի փոշմանել, որ Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսի և Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու դեմ արշավ է սկսել։ Ավելին պնդում է, որ այդ իր հռչակած դադարը հարմար պահ էր, որպեսզի Վեհափառն ինքնուրույն ազատի Վեհարանը։ «Իմ պլանները չեն կարող փոխվել։ Դա անփոփոխելի պլան է։ Ես նրան կոչ եմ անում կամավոր այդ որոշումը կայացնել և կկայացնի այդ որոշումը, որ պետք է կայացնի, որը չի կարող պարզապես չկայացվել»,- նախօրեին կառավարությունում լրագրողների հետ ճեպազրույցում հայտարարել է Փաշինյանը, ավելին՝ նշել, որ միևնույնն է, եթե Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը չլքի Վեհարանը, ապա տեղի կունենա Էջմիածնի կենտրոնական հրապարակի ճնշմամբ։

Հիշեցնենք, ամիսներ առաջ նա գրել էր, թե Էջմիածնում մեծ հավաք է կազմակերպելու Վեհարանը Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսից ազատելու համար։ Տևական դադարը, ըստ իշխանությունների, պայմանավորված է եղել սեփական ռեսուրսները հաշվարկելով, նաև նախապատրաստելով Էջմիածնի քաղաքապետի ընտրություններին։ Առաջիկայում այստեղ համայնքապետի ընտրություններ են լինելու, և «Քաղպայմանագիրը» լուրջ խնդիրներ ունի, ուստի և փորձում է հակաեկեղեցական արշավներ օգտագործել՝ իր վարկանիշն իբր բարձրացնելու համար։

Եթե Փաշինյանին հաջողվի միաժամանակ հեռացնել Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսին, ինչպես և իրենց թեկնածուին դարձնել քաղաքապետ, փաստացի ընդդիմությունը, ծանր հարված կստանա, ուստի Էջմիածնի ընտրություններից առաջ անհրաժեշտ է, որպեսզի ընդդիմադիր ուժերը մեկ միասնական ցուցակով կամ դաշինքով մասնակցեն ընտրություններին՝ կանխելու վտանգավոր այս զարգացումները։
