Փաշինյանի և նրա պաշտպանների փորձերը Հայաստանի դիվանագիտական ձախողումը ներկայացնելու որպես հաջողության պատմություն ոչ միայն անազնիվ են, այլև խորապես վիրավորական մեր ազգի հավաքական հիշողության հանդեպ։ Ամեն անգամ, երբ այս մարդիկ խոսում են, նախ պետք է իրենց հիշեցնեն, որ նրանք էին այն թիմի անդամները, որոնք պատասխանատու էին Արցախի ամբողջական կորստի, հազարավոր զոհերի, հաշմանդամների և անհետ կորածների, այժմ Բաքվում պահվող հայ պատանդների, ինչպես նաև Ադրբեջանի վերահսկողության տակ անցած Հայաստանի տարածքների համար։ Այս մասին գրել է ՀՀ նախկին արտգործնախարար Վարդան Օսկանյանը:
«Երկրորդ՝ նրանք շատ լավ գիտակցում են, որ վերջին ստորագրված փաստաթղթերով փաստացի հանձնել են «Զանգեզուրի միջանցքը»՝ Հայաստանի ամենակարևոր ռազմավարական շրջանում, Ադրբեջանին, իսկ նախաստորագրված «խաղաղության պայմանագրով» նոր սպառնալիքներ են ստեղծել Հայաստանի ինքնիշխանության և տարածքային ամբողջականության։
Միակ դրական հանգամանքը այստեղ այն է, որ Փաշինյանի կառավարությունը բացահայտորեն խոստովանել է, որ այս զիջումները, այդ թվում՝ Զանգեզուրի միջանցքի հանձնումը, կատարվել են սպառնալիքի ներքո. «Եթե չզիջեինք, այն կվերցնեին ուժով»։ Այս խոստովանությունը հաստատում է, որ այս պայմանավորվածությունները ոչ թե օրինական դիվանագիտական ձեռքբերումներ են, այլ հարկադրական փաստաթղթեր, որոնք իրավական հիմքով կարելի է վիճարկել և նույնիսկ անվավեր ճանաչել։
Չեմ կարող չհարցնել՝ ի՞նչ մարդիկ են բանակցել այս փաստաթղթերը։ Ակնհայտ է, որ դա մեկ մարդու գործը չէր. եղել է ամբողջական թիմ՝ խորհրդատուներով և իրավաբաններով։ Եթե իրոք հավատում են, որ փայլուն աշխատանք են կատարել, արդյո՞ք չպետք է ցանկանան հանրության առաջ գալ և ստանձնել այդ «փառքը»։ Ինչո՞ւ չկազմակերպեն մամուլի ասուլիս, չժպտան տեսախցիկներին և չվայելեն տասնյակ դարերի հայկական պայքարի և ինքնիշխանության հանձնման «ծափահարությունները»։ Փոխարենը նրանք մնում են հարմարավետորեն անանուն՝ թաքնվելով Փաշինյանի հռետորաբանության հետևում, ինչը հստակ ցույց է տալիս՝ իրենք էլ չեն հավատում իրենց «հաջողություններին»»,- գրել է նա:
