Գործող իշխանությունները՝ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի գլխավորությամբ, կադրային այնպիսի սուղ վիճակում են, որ մարզպետ են նշանակում մեկին, ում շաբաթներ առաջ մերժել էին նշանակել։ ԱԺ մամուլի ծառայությունը երեկ հայտնեց, որ պատգամավոր Արեն Մկրտչյանը հրաժարականի դիմում է ներկայացրել։ Հիշեցնենք, ՀՀ վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը օգոստոսի 21-ին հայտնել է, որ պատգամավորական մանդատից հրաժարված Արսեն Թորոսյանը նշանակվելու է աշխատանքի և սոցիալական հարցերի նախարար, Արեն Մկրտչյանն էլ՝ Լոռու մարզպետ։

Լոռու մարզպետի պաշտոնը թափուր է հունիսի 2-ից։ Նախկին մարզպետ Արամ Ղազարյանի՝ ոստիկանապետ նշանակվելուց հետո այդ պաշտոնը չի համալրվել, նրա տեղակալներից Հովհաննես Ավետիսյանն է մարզպետի պարտականությունները ժամանակավոր կատարում։

Երկար տարիներ լրագրող աշխատած Արեն Մկրտչյանը իշխանափոխությունից հետո մի քանի ամիս Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի օգնականն է եղել։ Հենց նա է եղել երջանկահիշատակ գեներալ Մանվել Գրիգորյանի դեմ «տուշոնկա» օպերացիայի և մի քանի այլ քստմնելի քարոզչական դրվագների հեղինակը։ 2018թ. դեկտեմբերին ԱԺ պատգամավոր է ընտրվել «Իմ քայլը» կուսակցությունների դաշինքից, 2021-ին էլ՝ «Քաղաքացիական պայմանագիր» կուսակցության համապետական ընտրական ցուցակով։

Լոռու նախկին մարզպետին ոստիկանապետ նշանակելուց հետո ՔՊ վարչությունը մի քանի անուններ է քննարկել, այդ թվում՝ Արեն Մկրտչյանին։ Եվ բոլոր դեպքերում վարչության անդամները դեմ են եղել նրա նշանակմանը՝ փաստարկելով, որ Արեն Մկրտչյանը ոչ քաղաքական, ոչ մասնագիտական հմտություններ չունի նման մարզ ղեկավարելու համար։ Բայց, ի վերջո, Փաշինյանը պնդել է նրա թեկնածության վրա՝ հայտարարելով, թե պարզապես այլ թեկնածու չունեն, նախկին մարզպետ Արամ Ղաչատրյանի վերանշանակումն էլ կարող է լուրջ չընկալվել հանրության կողմից։ Ուստի, հերթական անհաջողակին կնշանակեն Լոռու մարզպետ՝ դրանից բխող բոլոր հետևանքներով։
