Երեք անչափահաս քույրեր խեղդվել են, երբ ռետինե նավակը, որը տեղափոխում էր նրանց և տասնյակ այլ միգրանտների, հայտնվել է դժվարին իրավիճակում՝ Լիբիայից Իտալիա տանող վտանգավոր ճանապարհին Կենտրոնական Միջերկրականով, կիրակի օրը հաղորդել է գերմանական RESQSHIP ծովային փրկարարական բարեգործական կազմակերպությունը։

Reuters-ի փոխանցմամբ, 9, 11 և 17 տարեկան քույրերի մարմինները հայտնաբերվել են նավակի ներսում, որը «վտանգավոր կերպով գերբեռնված» էր, և որի վրա բարձրացել էին մինչև 1.5 մետր բարձրությամբ ալիքներ՝ նախքան փրկարարական նավի դեպքի վայր հասնելը։

Ըստ RESQSHIP-ի, «Նադիր» նավի փրկած 65 անձանց թվում եղել են երեք հղի կին, երեխաներ և յոթ ամսական մանուկ։

Կազմակերպության հայտարարության մեջ նշվում է, որ մեկ մարդ ավելի վաղ ընկել է ջուրը անցման ընթացքում և մինչ այժմ համարվում է անհետ կորած։

Բարեգործական կազմակերպության տվյալներով, «Նադիր»-ը որսացել է ռետինե նավակը, որը ուրբաթ գիշերը դուրս էր եկել Լիբիայի Զուվարա քաղաքից։

Իտալիայի առափնյա պահակախումբը շաբաթ օրը կեսօրին տարհանել է 14 հոգու՝ բուժհաստատությունների հիվանդներին և նրանց հարազատներին, և տեղափոխել նրանց Իտալիայի հարավային Լամպեդուզա կղզի, ուր նույն օրը ժամանել է նաև «Նադիր»-ը՝ փրկված մարդկանց և երեք աղջիկների մարմիններով։
