Իսրայելի վարչապետ Բենիամին Նեթանյահուն հայտարարել է, որ նույնիսկ եթե ՀԱՄԱՍ-ը համաձայնի հրադադարի համաձայնագրին, իրենք, միևնույն է, կգրավեն Գազան։ «Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ այս մասին Նեթանյահուն հայտարարել է Sky News Australia-ի հետ հարցազրույցում։
Մենք դա, միևնույնն է, անելու ենք։ Երբեք հարց չի եղել, որ մենք մտադիր ենք թողնել ՀԱՄԱՍ-ին այնտեղ։ Կարծում եմ՝ նախագահ Թրամփը լավագույնս արտահայտվել է. նա նշել է, որ ՀԱՄԱՍ-ը պետք է անհետանա Գազայից», – նշել է Նեթանյահուն։
«Բայց ես ասել եմ, որ այս պատերազմը կարող է ավարտվել այսօր։ Այն կարող է ավարտվել, եթե ՀԱՄԱՍ-ը վայր դնի զենքերը և վերադարձնի մնացած 50 պատանդներին, որոնցից առնվազն 20-ը ողջ են։ Սա է մեր նպատակը՝ դուրս բերել բոլոր պատանդներին, զինաթափել ՀԱՄԱՍ-ին, ապառազմականացնել Գազան և այլ ապագա տալ Գազայի բնակիչներին», – հավելել է նա։
Նեթանյահուն պնդել է, որ ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի վերջին հենակետի վերացումը կարևոր է երկարատև խաղաղության համար՝ թե՛ իսրայելցիների, թե՛ պաղեստինցիների համար։
Նրա խոսքով՝ լրատվամիջոցների հաղորդագրություններին հակառակ՝ իր նպատակը «Գազան օկուպացնելը» չէ։
«Խոսքը Գազան ազատագրելու, Իսրայելին և մյուսներին ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի ահաբեկչությունից ազատելու, Գազային և Իսրայելին այլ ապագա տալու մասին է, և ես կարծում եմ, որ մենք մոտ ենք դրան», – ընդգծել է նա։
Ավելի վաղ Իսրայելի պաշտպանության բանակը հայտարարել էր, որ իրենք սկսել են Գազան գրավելու ծրագրի նախնական փուլերը՝ պատրաստվելով ավելի խոշոր գործողության: Ըստ ԻՊԲ հայտարարության՝ զինվորներն արդեն քաղաքի մատույցներում են: Գործողության իրականացման համար Իսրայելը 60 000 պահեստազորայինի է զորակոչել և երկարաձգել է արդեն զորակոչված ևս 20 000 պահեստազորայինի ծառայության ժամկետը:
