Մոսկվան ձգտում է լիակատար վերահսկողություն հաստատել Դոնեցկի շրջանի նկատմամբ՝ Զապորոժիեի և Խերսոնի շրջաններում առաջնագծի սառեցման դիմաց։ Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինը այս դիրքորոշումը հայտնել է Սպիտակ տան ղեկավար Դոնալդ Թրամփի հետ օգոստոսի 15-ին Ալյասկայի Անքորիջ քաղաքում կայացած հանդիպման ժամանակ։ Այս մասին շաբաթ օրը՝ օգոստոսի 16-ին, հայտնել է Financial Times (FT)-ն՝ հղում անելով երեք աղբյուրների։

Ըստ նրանց՝ Պուտինը պահանջել է, որ Ուկրաինան դուրս բերի իր զորքերը Դոնեցկի շրջանի իրենց վերահսկողության տակ գտնվող մասից՝ որպես պատերազմը դադարեցնելու առաջին քայլ։ Երկու աղբյուրների համաձայն՝ Մոսկվան պնդում է, որ կարգավորման դեպքում չի սկսի հարձակումներ նոր տարածքներ գրավելու համար։

Ինչպես նշվեց, Ռուսաստանի զինված ուժերը վերահսկում են Դոնեցկի շրջանի մոտ 70%-ը, մինչդեռ Ուկրաինայի վերահսկողության տակ գտնվող տարածքները կարևոր են Կիևի ռազմական գործողությունների և արևելյան ճակատում պաշտպանության համար։ Reuters-ը, հղում անելով աղբյուրին, հայտնել է, որ Պուտինը նաև պնդել է ուկրաինական զորքերի դուրսբերման վրա Լուգանսկի շրջանից։ Այն հիմնականում գտնվում է ռուսամետ ուժերի վերահսկողության տակ։

Ուկրաինայի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Զելենսկին կարող է տարածքային հարցեր քննարկել Դոնալդ Թրամփի հետ Սպիտակ տանը օգոստոսի 18-ին։ Նա նաև պատրաստ կլինի անդրադառնալ դրանց Թրամփի և Պուտինի հետ եռակողմ հանդիպման դեպքում, պարզաբանել է FT-ն։
