Եգիպտոսը երեքշաբթի հայտարարել է, որ համագործակցում է Գազայի միջնորդներ Կատարի և Միացյալ Նահանգների հետ՝ Գազայի հատվածում պատերազմը դադարեցնելու նորացված ջանքերի շրջանակում 60-օրյա զինադադար կնքելու համար, հաղորդում է Ֆրանսպրես գործակալությունը։
Արտգործնախարար Բադր Աբդելատին այդ մեկնաբանություններն արել է Կահիրեում անցկացված մամուլի ասուլիսում, երբ երկու պաղեստինյան աղբյուրներ Ֆրանսպրես գործակալությանը հայտնել են, որ ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի բարձրաստիճան պատվիրակությունը բանակցությունների համար չորեքշաբթի պետք է հանդիպի եգիպտացի պաշտոնյաների հետ։
22-ամսյա պատերազմի ընթացքում հրադադարի հասնելու և պատանդների ազատ արձակմանն ուղղված դիվանագիտական գործընթացը շաբաթներ շարունակ կանգ է առել՝ հուլիսին բանակցությունների վերջին փուլի ձախողումից հետո։
Աբդելատին նշել է, որ «իրենք այժմ շատ ջանասիրաբար աշխատում են՝ Կատարի և ամերիկացիների հետ լիարժեք համագործակցությամբ»՝ 60-օրյա զինադադարի, որոշ պատանդների և որոշ պաղեստինցի կալանավորների ազատ արձակման, ինչպես նաև առանց սահմանափակումների և նախապայմանների՝ Գազային մարդասիրական և բժշկական օգնության մատակարարման շուրջ»։
Պաղեստինյան աղբյուրը ավելի վաղ Ֆրանսպրես գործակալությանը հայտնել էր, որ միջնորդները աշխատում են «համապարփակ հրադադարի նոր առաջարկ մշակելու» ուղղությամբ, որը կներառի Գազայում մնացած բոլոր պատանդների «միանգամից» ազատ արձակումը։
Կատարի, Եգիպտոսի և Միացյալ Նահանգների միջնորդական ջանքերը չեն կարողացել առաջընթաց ապահովել այս տարվա սկզբին կնքված կարճատև հրադադարից հետո։ ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի պատվիրակությունը, որը սպասվում է Կահիրեում, խմբի գլխավոր բանակցող Խալիլ ալ-Հայյայի գլխավորությամբ, չորեքշաբթի նախատեսում է հանդիպել եգիպտացի պաշտոնյաների հետ՝ բանակցություններում «վերջին զարգացումները քննարկելու» համար, հայտնել է երկրորդ պաղեստինյան աղբյուրը։
Ավելի վաղ Իսրայելը վերջին օրերին ակտիվացրել է իր ավիահարվածները Գազա քաղաքի վրա՝ այնտեղ ռազմական գործողությունները ընդլայնելու կառավարության որոշումից հետո։
