Цены на литий резко выросли после закрытия одной из крупнейших шахт в мире

Цены на литий, который используется для производства аккумуляторов, резко выросли в понедельник, 11 августа. Это произошло на фоне закрытия одной из крупнейших литиевых шахт в Китае, сообщает Bloomberg.
Компания Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL), крупнейший в мире производитель аккумуляторов, подтвердила закрытие своей шахты Jianxiawo в Китае после окончания срока лицензии.
По данным Bloomberg, добыча будет закрыта минимум на три месяца. На эту шахту приходится около 6% мировой добычи лития, тогда как на другие шахты в регионе приходится как минимум еще 5%.
Такой шаг компании-гиганта всколыхнул рынок. Цены на металл для аккумуляторов на фьючерсной бирже Гуанчжоу выросли на дневной лимит. Акции китайской компании Tianqi Lithium выросли на 19%, а Ganfeng Lithium - на 21%.
Как известно, сейчас производители лития борются с глобальным избытком предложения. Он усиливается препятствиями в спросе на электромобили, в частности из-за отмены президентом США Дональдом Трампом льгот для этой отрасли.
Добавим, что литий - это легкий металл, который характеризуется высокой реакционной способностью и используется в различных отраслях, включая медицину, электронику и производство аккумуляторов.
