Գրեթե 40 տարվա զինված հակամարտությունից հետո, ԱՄՆ միջնորդությամբ Ադրբեջանի և Հայաստանի միջև կնքված խաղաղության համաձայնագիրը պատմական շրջադարձային պահ է և հույսի նշան։
Այս մասին հայտարարել է Իտալիայի փոխվարչապետ Մատեո Սալվինին՝ մեկնաբանելով Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև խաղաղության համաձայնագրի նախաստորագրումը։
«Երբ դիվանագիտությունը փոխարինում է զենքին, դա միշտ լավ լուր է։ Թող այդ քայլը լավ նախանշան լինի աշխարհի այլ պատերազմական գոտիների համար, հատկապես օգոստոսի 15-ին Ալյասկայում Թրամփ-Պուտին հանդիպման նախօրեին։ Այսօր, ավելի քան երբևէ, բոլորը պետք է ձգտեն մեկ բանի՝ խաղաղության»,- հայտարարության մեջ նշել է Իտալիայի փոխվարչապետը։
Հիշեցնենք՝ օգոստոսի 8-ին Վաշինգտոնում՝ Սպիտակ տանը ստորագրվել է Ադրբեջանի Հանրապետության նախագահի, Հայաստանի Հանրապետության վարչապետի և Ամերիկայի Միացյալ Նահանգների նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի համատեղ Հռչակագիրը:

Խաղաղության համաձայնագիրը Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև օգոստոսի 8-ին նախաստորագրվել է, ինչը նշանակում է, որ կողմերը պաշտոնապես և գրավոր կերպով արձանագրել են, որ այդ փաստաթուղթը իրենց համար ընդունելի է և, ըստ էության, արդեն անփոփոխելի։
