Վաշինգտոնում կեսգիշերին մոտ կայացել է պատմական խայտառակության ստորագրումը։ Դոնալդ Թրամփը նախ ընդունել է Նիկոլ Փաշինյանին, ապա և Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևին, որից հետո երեքով նախաստորագրել են խաղաղության պայմանագիրը, որով վատթարագույն բոլոր կանխատեսումները, որ արվում էին վերջին օրերին միջազգային մամուլի կողմից, իրականություն են դարձել։ «Նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևը հաղթել է պատերազմը, այժմ էլ խաղաղությունն է նվաճում»,- գրել է Ադրբեջանի նախագահի արտաքին քաղաքականության հարցերով խորհրդական Հիքմեթ Հաջիևը և դժվար է չհամաձայնվել նրա այս հայտարարության հետ։

Իսկ Փաշինյանին, դեպի սպանդանոց քշվող մատաղացուի պես, Սպիտակ տուն ուղեկցելով՝ Թրամփը պարզապես ծաղրել է Հայաստանի Հանրապետությանը։ Ըստ էության, կարելի է արդեն իսկ մի քանի արձանագրումներ անել, Միացյալ Նահանգները ոչինչ չի կորցնում, ընդհակառակը, Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի անողնաշարության պատճառով հայտնվում է հարավկովկասյան տարածաշրջանում՝ դրանից բխող բոլոր հետևանքներով։ Ավելին, Վաշինգտոնը նույնիսկ անվտանգության երաշխիքներ չի տալիս, խաղաղության պայմանագիրն էլ ոչ թե ստորագրվել, այլ նախաստորագրվել է, փաստացի, արձանագրելով, որ Ադրբեջանը որևէ կերպ չի հրաժարվում իր առաջ քաշած նախապայմաններից։

Զանգեզուրի միջանցքի հատվածը 99 տարով վարձակալությամբ է հանձնվելու ամերիկյան կողմին։ Թեպետ փաշինյանական իշխանությունը դրա անունը դնում է «Հայ-ամերիկյան համատեղ կոնսորցիում», ինքնիշխանության մասին ճամարտակող փաշինյանական վարչախումբն ամենահնարավոր ամենացածր մակարդակի իջեցրեց Հայաստանի ինքնիշխանությունը և այժմ գոհ է իր արածից։ Չէ որ Թրամփի վարչակազմը հասկանում է, որ ցանկացած այլ ազգային իշխանության գալուստով խայտառակ նման պայմանագիրը կարող է չեղարկվել, ուստի և Միացյալ Նահանգներն ամեն ինչ անելու է՝ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանին իշխանության ղեկին պահելու համար։
