ԱՄՆ նախագահ Թրամփը Հարավային Կովկասում Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև խաղաղության համաձայնագրի կնքման շեմին է։ Այս մասին The Wall Street Journal-ի համար գրված հոդվածում գրել է Հանրապետական կուսակցության անդամ, ամերիկացի սենատոր Սթիվ Դեյնսը։
«Սա կլինի նշանավոր ձեռքբերում՝ ևս մեկ քայլ դեպի կայունություն, որը կնպաստի տարածաշրջանային և միջազգային խաղաղությանը, ինչպես նաև տնտեսական օգուտներին, որոնք դուրս են գալիս մասնակից երկրների շրջանակներից։
1980-ականների վերջից Խորհրդային Միության նախկին մաս կազմող Հայաստանն ու Ադրբեջանը գտնվում են դանդաղ ընթացող հակամարտության մեջ, որն ուղեկցվում է լուրջ բռնության պարբերական բռնկումներով։ Խաղաղության հաստատման բազմաթիվ փորձեր եղել են անարդյունավետ կամ ոչ հեռատես։ Նախորդ վարչակազմերը առաջնահերթ ուշադրություն չեն դարձրել տարածաշրջանին և խաղաղ բանակցություններին», - նշել է նա։
Նրա խոսքով՝ Թրամփը նպաստում է տարածաշրջանում և նրա սահմաններից դուրս աճին ու կայունությանը։
Դեյնսը հավելել է, որ հանուն տարածաշրջանում և ամբողջ աշխարհում խաղաղության ու կայունության՝ Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի ղեկավարները պետք է անհապաղ ավարտին հասցնեն դրա ստորագրումը։
