Իրանի Fars և Tasnim լրատվական գործակալությունների ուրբաթ և շաբաթ օրերին տարածած հաղորդագրությունների համաձայն, Թեհրանը պատրաստվում է ստեղծել նոր Գերագույն Պաշտպանության խորհուրդ՝ որպես Գերագույն Ազգային Անվտանգության Խորհրդի (ԱԱԽ) կառուցվածքային փոփոխությունների մաս։

Խորհուրդը, որի սահմանադրական դրույթը վաղուց անգործունակ է եղել, նախատեսվում է, որ կարևոր դեր կխաղա ռազմավարական պաշտպանական քաղաքականության մշակման գործում։ Fars լրատվական գործակալությունը հաղորդել է, որ «տեղեկացված աղբյուրները» հաստատել են Պաշտպանության խորհրդի ստեղծումը՝ ԱԱԽ կառուցվածքային փոփոխությունների ավարտից հետո։

Հայտարարության մեջ ասվում է, որ նոր մարմինն ունի «երկրի պաշտպանական քաղաքականության ռազմավարական խնդիրներ»։ Այն հավելում է, որ դրա կառուցվածքը «կավարտվի մոտ ապագայում» և «պաշտպանության և անվտանգության կառավարման նոր համակարգի մաս է կազմում»։

Tasnim լրատվական գործակալությունը տրամադրել է ավելի շատ մանրամասներ՝ հղում անելով Իրանի Սահմանադրության 176-րդ հոդվածին։ Հոդվածում հստակ նշվում է, որ ԱԱԽ-ն «ձևավորում է ենթակա խորհուրդներ, ինչպիսիք են Պաշտպանության խորհուրդը և Ազգային անվտանգության խորհուրդը՝ համաձայն իր պարտականությունների»։

Լրատվամիջոցների հաղորդագրությունների համաձայն, Պաշտպանության խորհրդի կառուցվածքը հաստատվել է «մի քանի օր առաջ»՝ հիմնվելով այս սահմանադրական լիազորությունների վրա։

Աղբյուրների համաձայն, խորհուրդը կգլխավորի նախագահը, իսկ քարտուղարը, հավանաբար, կլինի նախագահի կողմից նշանակված ռազմական գործիչ: Ըստ որոշ տեղեկությունների, հիմնական նպատակներից են «երկրի պաշտպանական կարողությունների համապարփակ ամրապնդմանն աջակցելը», «երկրի պաշտպանության ոլորտում որոշումների կայացման արագության բարձրացումը» և զինված ուժերի գլխավոր շտաբի պետից (ով արդեն Ազգային անվտանգության և պաշտպանության խորհրդի անդամ է) բացի լրացուցիչ ռազմական հրամանատարների ներգրավումը։

Tasnim-ը նաև թվարկել է խորհրդի անդամ, որոնք, հավանաբար, կընդգրկվեն խորհրդի կազմում: Նրանց թվում են կառավարության երեք թևերի ղեկավարները, Իսլամական հեղափոխության առաջնորդի երկու ներկայացուցիչ Ազգային անվտանգության և պաշտպանության խորհրդի կազմում, հետախուզության նախարարը, զինված ուժերի գլխավոր շտաբի պետը, Իսլամական հեղափոխության պահապանների կորպուսի (ԻՀՊԿ) գլխավոր հրամանատարը, ցամաքային զորքերի գլխավոր հրամանատարը (Արտեշ) և «Խաթամ ալ-Անբիա» կենտրոնական շտաբի հրամանատարը։

Պաշտպանության խորհրդի ստեղծումը, կարծես թե, նպատակ ունի նպաստել Իրանի սահմանադրական շրջանակներում բարձր մակարդակի պաշտպանական որոշումների կայացմանը՝ արտացոլելով Իրանի հետ 12-օրյա ԱՄՆ-Իսրայելական պատերազմից քաղված դասերը և ղեկավարության համաձայնությունը՝ պահպանելու ռազմական պատրաստվածության ամենաբարձր մակարդակը շարունակական սպառնալիքների դեմ։
