ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղարը կոչ է արել՝ չթուլացնել ջանքերն Էբոլայի դեմ մղվող պայքարում

 Միջազգային հանրակցությունը մեծ հաջողությունների է հասել Էբոլա վիրուսի տարածման դեմ պայքարում, սակայն այդ սպառնալիքը վերջնականապես չի վերացել: Այդ մասին ՄԱԿ-ի Գլխավոր ասամբլեայում կայացած ոչ պաշտոնական հանդիպմանը հայտարարել է համաշխարհային կազմակերպության գլխավոր քարտուղար Պան Գի Մունը:

Նրա խոսքով՝ «հիանալի հաջողություն» դարձավ այն, որ Լիբերիան մայիսի 9-ին հայտարարվեց «Էբոլա վիրուսից ազատված երկիր»: «Սակայն այնքան ժամանակ, քանի դեռ Էբոլա վիրուսի հարուցած հիվանդության դեպքեր են գրանցվում մյուս երկրներում, սպառնալիքը պահպանվում է բոլորի համար,- հավելել է նա:- Դա հատկապես ակտուալ է Սիեռա Լեոնեի եւ Գվինեայի համար»:

«Եթե հիվանդության բռնկումը կրկնվի, բոլոր այն միջոցներն ու ջանքերը, որոնք նպատակամղվել են այդ համաճարակի դեմ պայքարին, իզուր կանցնեն»,- ընդգծել է նա եւ հայտնել, որ հուլիսի 10-ին Նյու Յորքում կկայանա միջազգային խորհրդաժողով՝ նվիրված Էբոլա վիրուսի հարուցած համաճարակից հետո վերականգնման հարցերին:

Առողջապահության համաշխարհային կազմակերպությունը մայիսի 25-ից ի վեր Արեւմտյան Աֆրիկայում Էբոլա վիրուսի հարուցած հիվանդությունից մահվան 13 դեպք է գրանցել, վարակման նոր դեպքերի թիվը հասնում Է 133-ի: Ընդամենը համաճարակի սկսվելուց հետո Գվինեայում, Լիբերիայում եւ Սիեռա Լեոնեում վտանգավոր հիվանդությունից մահացել է 11 հազար 145 մարդ, վարակվել է 27 հազար 135 բնակիչ:

Հիվանդանալու դեպքեր են գրանցվել նաեւ Մալիում, Նիգերիայում, Սենեգալում, Իսպանիայում, Մեծ Բրիտանիայում եւ ԱՄՆ-ում: Այդուհանդերձ, այդ երկրների մեծ մասում վարակվածների թիվը չի գերազանցում 10-ը: Բացառություն է կազմում Նիգերիան, որտեղ Էբոլա վիրուսով վարակվել է քսան մարդ, մահացել են ութը, հաղորդել է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
