ԱՄՆ-ն աջակցում է խաղաղության և կայունության խթանման ջանքերին Հարավային Կովկասում. այս մասին ճեպազրույցում ասել է Պետքարտուղության խոսնակ Թեմմի Բրյուսը:

«Մենք հետևում ենք իրադարձություններին և ուշադրություն ենք դարձնում դրանց», - ասել է նա ի պատասխան լրագրողի՝ այսպես կոչված «Զանգեզուրի միջանցքի» բացման, ինչպես նաև Թուրքիայում ԱՄՆ դեպանի Թոմաս Բարրաքի՝ այդ երթուղին 100 տարով ամերկյան ընկերության կառավարմանը հանձնելու հավանականության մասին հարցերին:

«Ի՞նչ դիրքորոշում ունի ԱՄՆ-ն «Զանգեզուրի միջանցքի» վերաբերյալ։ Որովհետև այս միջանցքը ցամաքային կապ կհաստատի Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև, և այն ոչ միայն կնպաստի երկու երկրների զարգացմանը, այլև կփոխի Հարավային Կովկասի աշխարհաքաղաքական լանդշաֆտը։ Արդյոք Միացյալ Նահանգներն աջակցո՞ւմ է այս նախագծին», - հետաքրքրվել է ադրբեջանցի լրագրողը։

«Այստեղ մենք ընդհանուր պատկերացում ունենք։ Սա, իհարկե, այն դեպքերից է, երբ խնդիր է առաջանում մի տարածաշրջանում, որում բազմաթիվ երկրների շահեր են խաչվում։ Ինչ կարող եմ ասել՝ դա գուցե հենց այն չէ, ինչ Դուք ակնկալում էիք լսել, բայց մենք կցանկանայինք ճշտել այս հարցը նաև Սպիտակ տան և նախագահական թիմի հետ՝ տեսնելու, թե ինչ դիրքորոշում կա այս հարցում», - պատասխանել է Բրյուսը:
