Նյուքասլի վերարտադրողական կենտրոնի բժիշկները հայտնել են ութ առողջ երեխաների հաջող ծննդյան մասին, որոնցից յուրաքանչյուրը կրում է 3 ծնողի ԴՆԹ: Երեխաները բեղմնավորվել են արտամարմնային բեղմնավորման (IVF) միջոցով՝ կենսաբանական մոր, հոր և ձվաբջջի դոնորի գենետիկական նյութի կիրառմամբ։
Այս մեթոդը, որը նախկինում մշակել են բրիտանացի գիտնականները, թույլ է տալիս ապահովագրել երեխային անբուժելի գենետիկական հիվանդությունների ժառանգումից: Ինչպես նշում է kommersant.ru-ն, առաջին նման փորձի արդյունքները հրապարակվել են The New England Journal of Medicine-ում:
Բժիշկները հայտնել են, որ յոթ կանանցից ծնվել է ութ առողջ երեխա (չորս տղա և չորս աղջիկ, այդ թվում՝ մեկ զույգ երկվորյակ): Փորձի մեկ այլ մասնակից հղիության փուլում է։ Այս պահին հինգ երեխա մեկ տարեկանից փոքր է, երկուսը՝ երկու տարեկանից փոքր, իսկ մեկը՝ երկու տարեկանից բարձր։
Փորձին մասնակցած բոլոր մայրերի մոտ կային մուտացիաներ միտոքոնդրիաներում՝ բջիջների էներգետիկ կենտրոններում, և մեծ էր հավանականությունը, որ նրանք կյանքին սպառնացող հիվանդություններ կփոխանցեին իրենց երեխաներին։ Այս մուտացիաները հանգեցնում են մարդու բջիջների էներգետիկ գործառույթների խափանումների և կարող են լուրջ պաթոլոգիա կամ երեխայի վաղաժամ մահ առաջացնել։
Արտամարմնային բեղմնավորման ընթացակարգը ներառում էր մոր ձվաբջջի և հոր սերմի համադրությունը և դրա ներարկումն առողջ դոնոր ձվաբջջի մեջ։ Սա ապահովել է, որ միտոքոնդրիալ մուտացիան չփոխանցվի երեխային։ Գործընթացն առաջին անգամ հավանություն է ստացել Մեծ Բրիտանիայում 2015 թվականին, իսկ Նյուքասլի կլինիկան դարձել է առաջինը, որը լիցենզիա է ստացել այն իրականացնելու համար։
