Սպիտակ տան ազգային անվտանգության նախկին խորհրդական Մայք Ուոլցը, որին ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը առաջադրել էր ՄԱԿ-ում մշտական ներկայացուցչի պաշտոնում, ցուցմունք է տվել Սենատում, հաղորդում է NBC News-ը։

Իր ելույթի ժամանակ Ուոլցը, մասնավորապես, հայտնել է, որ վետո կդնի ՄԱԿ-ի՝ Իսրայելի վերաբերյալ բանաձևերին, ինչպես նաև նշել է, որ, իր կարծիքով, ՄԱԿ-ի Պաղեստինի փախստականների օգնության և աշխատանքների գործակալությունը (UNRWA) պետք է «զրկվի ֆինանսավորումից» և «լուծարվի»։

«Մենք կարող ենք քննարկել, թե ով և ինչ կարող է ստանձնել այս մարդասիրական գործառույթները, բայց դա, անշուշտ, չպետք է լինի UNRWA-ն»,- ասել է Ուոլցը։

ՄԱԿ-ում ԱՄՆ մշտական ներկայացուցչի պաշտոնի թեկնածուն պատասխանել է նաև Signal հավելվածի չաթից տեղեկությունների սկանդալային արտահոսքի վերաբերյալ հարցին, որը հանգեցրել է նրա նախկին պաշտոնից հրաժարականին։

Ուոլցը նշել է, որ չաթի օգտագործումը պայմանավորված էր Բայդենի վարչակազմի օրոք գործող Կիբերանվտանգության և ենթակառուցվածքների անվտանգության գործակալության ուղեցույցներից բխող առաջարկություններով։

Նա հայտարարել է, որ Signal չաթում գաղտնի տեղեկություններ չկան, ինչը քննադատները վիճարկում են։

Ուոլցը նշել է, որ Սպիտակ տունը հետաքննում է միջադեպը, իսկ Պաշտպանության նախարարությունը շարունակում է այն ուսումնասիրել։
