«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Որքան Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի վախերն ու անհանգստությունները խորանում են, այնքան ավելի վայրագ միջոցների է դիմում ընդդիմադիրների նկատմամբ: Բացառապես քաղաքական նկատառումներով «իրավապահ» գործիքակազմի ակնհայտ ապօրինի կիրառմանը զուգահեռ՝ քարոզչական «մարտի է նետել» տարատեսակ սատելիտների՝ քպական, թե քպամերձ:

Նպատակը հստակ է՝ առավելագույնս փորձել վարկաբեկել ընդդիմադիր գործիչներին և ուժերին: Ու այդ նպատակին հասնելու ճանապարհին, ինչպես միշտ, Փաշինյանը ոչ մի միջոցի առջև կանգ չի առնում, ընդհուպ՝ ակնհայտ կեղծ, շինծու տեղեկություններ հրապարակ նետելը: Օրինակ՝ վերջին օրերին իշխանական որոշ «խոսափողներ» շրջանառության մեջ են դրել թեզ, թե գեներալ-մայոր Արշակ Կարապետյանի՝ պաշտպանության նախարար եղած ժամանակ Ռուսաստանի հետ կնքված զենքի պայմանագրերը չեն կիրառվել, Հայաստանը զենք չի ստացել:

«Փաստը» դիմեց Կարապետյանին՝ խնդրելով պարզաբանել, թե ի՞նչ պայմանագրերի մասին է խոսքը: «Շատ պարզունակ են աշխատում իշխանություններն իրենց հակաքարոզչության մեջ: Նույնիսկ ակնհայտ, հեշտ ապացուցելի փաստերն են կեղծում ամբողջովին: Ամբողջ հարցն այն է, որ իմ պաշտոնավարման օրոք բացարձակապես ոչ մի պայմանագիր չի կնքվել, ավելին իմ՝ պաշտպանության նախարար նշանակվելու պահին ինձանից առաջ ստորագրված պայմանագրերի մատակարարումներն արդեն դադարեցված են եղել: Հակառակը, ես ամեն ինչ արել եմ, որ կարողանամ նախկինում կնքված պայմանագրերի սահմաններում զենք բերել, ինչը, թեկուզ ոչ մեծ ծավալներով, բայց հաջողվել է: Իշխանությունները ուրիշներին սևացնելու փոխարեն թող պատասխանեն, թե ինչու էին գնումներն իրականացնում մասնավորի միջոցով: Ռուսները պատրաստ էին հենց գործարանից ուղղակի մատակարարում իրականացնել, բայց սրանց ձեռք չէր տալիս դա, և աշխատեցնում էին մասնավորի միջնորդության սխեման, ինչը բարդություններ էր ստեղծում մատակարարման գործում: Թե ինչու էին դրանում շահագրգռված, թող իրենք պատասխանեն»,-ասաց Արշակ Կարապետյանը:
