ԱՄՆ-ի և Թուրքիայի նախագահներ Դոնալդ Թրամփը և Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը անցյալ շաբաթ փորձել են կազմակերպել ԱՄՆ-ի և Իրանի բարձրաստիճան պատվիրակությունների հանդիպումը Ստամբուլում: 

Այս մասին հայտնում է Axios պորտալը՝ հղում անելով իր աղբյուրներին։

Նրա տվյալներով, փորձը ձախողվել է Իսլամական Հանրապետության գերագույն առաջնորդ այաթոլլա Ալի Խամենեիի հետ կապ չկարողանալու հաստատելու պատճառով, ով պետք է հավանություն տար հանդիպմանը։ Պորտալի տվյալներով՝  Իրանի գերագույն առաջնորդը թաքնվում է՝ հնարավոր մահափորձի մտավախության պատճառով։

Նշվում է, որ Թրամփը երկուշաբթի օրը Կանադայում էր G7-ի գագաթնաժողովին, երբ նրան զանգահարել է Էրդողանը։ Թուրքիայի ղեկավարն առաջարկել է Ստամբուլում հանդիպում կազմակերպել ԱՄՆ-ի և Իրանի միջև՝ քննարկելու հակամարտության կարգավորման ուղիները։

Աղբյուրների համաձայն՝ Թրամփը համաձայնել է և ասել, որ պատրաստ է Թուրքիա ուղարկել փոխնախագահ Վանսին և հատուկ ներկայացուցիչ Սթիվ Ուիտկովին։ Նա չի բացառել նաև իր անձնական մասնակցությունը Իրանի նախագահ Մասուդ Փեզեշքիանի հետ բանակցություններին։

Դրանից հետո Էրդողանը և Թուրքիայի արտգործնախարար Հաքան Ֆիդանը այդ առաջարկը փոխանցել են Փեզեշքիանին և Իրանի արտգործնախարար Աբբաս Արաղչիին։ Իրանական կողմը փորձել է կապ հաստատել Խամենեիի հետ՝ հավանություն ստանալու համար, սակայն դա  նրանց չի հաջողվել. նա անհայտ վայրում է՝ վախենալով Իսրայելի մահափորձից:

Մի քանի ժամ անց իրանցիները հայտնել են Թուրքիային, որ չեն ստացել Խամենեիի համաձայնությունը։ Թուրքիան իր հերթին ԱՄՆ-ին ծանուցել է հանդիպման չեղարկման մասին։
