Փաշինյանը վճռականորեն ընտրել է Ուկրաինայի և Մոլդովայի ճանապարհը» վերնագրով հոդվածում գրում է, որ գործարար Սամվել Կարապետյանը ձերբակալվել է Հայաստանում: Հայաստանի քննչական կոմիտեն մեղադրում է Կարապետյանին իշխանությունը զավթելու կոչ անելու մեջ: Գործարարը չի ընդունում մեղքը, իսկ նրա պաշտպանությունը մեղադրանքը համարում է անօրինական:

«Հաշվի առնելով Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու (ՀԱԵ) բարձր հեղինակությունը հասարակության մեջ, մասնավորապես նրա հայրենասիրական թևի շրջանում, Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը որոշել է արհեստական պատրվակ ստեղծել հատկապես քրիստոնեական արժեքների և Հայաստանի ու Ռուսաստանի միջև կառուցողական հարաբերությունների զարգացման կողմնակից քաղաքական հակառակորդներին մաքրելու համար։
Սամվել Կարապետյանի ձերբակալությունը Փաշինյանի կողմից ՀԱԵ-ի վրա կոպիտ հարձակման տեսքով սադրանքի հետևանքն է։ Նրա հաշվարկը, որ գործարարը կսկսի հրապարակավ պաշտպանել Եկեղեցին, արդարացվեց։ Այդ համատեքստում ռեժիմի իրական նպատակը Կարապետյանի բիզնես ակտիվի (Հայաստանի էլեկտրական ցանցեր) ռեյդերական զավթման պատրվակ ստեղծելն է (ազգայնացման անվան տակ)։ Սա ևս մեկ քայլ է դեպի Արևմուտքի հետ Երևանի մերձեցումը, որը նպատակ ունի Ռուսաստանին դուրս մղել Հայաստանի տնտեսական ոլորտից։ Փաշինյանի ռեժիմի կողմից նմանատիպ քայլեր, ամենայն հավանականությամբ, պետք է սպասել նաև Զանգեզուրի պղնձամոլիբդենի գործարանի և Հայկական ատոմային էլեկտրակայանի դեպքերում, քանի որ այնտեղ ևս առկա են ռուսական փողեր»,–ասել է նա։
Սամվել Կարապետյանը հայտնի է Ռուսաստանի հայ համայնքի հետ իր լայն կապերով։ Նա պահպանում է ինչպես մշակութային, այնպես էլ հոգևոր կապերը իր պատմական հայրենիքի հետ և հնարավորություն ունի արդյունավետորեն իրականացնել գործարքներ Ռուսաստանի հետ։ «Այդ տեսանկյունից կարելի է ասել, որ Փաշինյանը ընտրել է Ուկրաինայի և Մոլդովայի ուղին, որը նախատեսում է ազգային ինքնության լիակատար մերժում (ՀԱԵ-ի ոչնչացում) և երկրի հանձնում Փաշինյանի արևմտյան կուրատորներին։ Դիմակները հանվել են», - ընդգծել է Ալեքսանդր Մատյուշինը։
