Պատմության մեջ առաջին անգամ բրիտանական հետախուզությունը կին է ղեկավարելու։ Մեծ Բրիտանիայի արտաքին հետախուզական ծառայության՝ MI6-ի նոր ղեկավար է դառնալու 47-ամյա Բլեյզ Մետրևելին, ով այս աշնանը կփոխարինի ծառայության գործող ղեկավար Ռիչարդ Մուրին։ Ծագումով վրացի Բլեյզ Մետրևելին աշխատանքի է ընդունվել հետախուզությունում 1999 թ․-ին, երբ Քեմբրիջի ուսանողուհի էր, այժմ նա MI6-ում ղեկավարում է տեխնոլոգիաների և նորարարությունների բաժինը, իսկ մինչ այդ ղեկավար պաշտոններ է զբաղեցրել ինչպես MI6-ում, այնպես էլ MI5-ում՝ հակահետախուզական գործակալությունում, որն ապահովում է երկրի ներքին անվտանգությունը։

Ռիչարդ Մուրը Հայաստանում հայտնի դարձավ նրանով, որ առնվազն երկու անգամ հանդիպում էր ունեցել Փաշինյանի հետ, ընդ որում, նրա այցը Հայաստան լայնորեն լուսաբանվել էր իշխանական լրատվամիջոցների կողմից, թեպետ սովորաբար նման այցերն առանձնակի ուշադրություն չեն նվիրում։ Ու տարբեր լրատվամիջոցներ նաև գրում էին, որ Ռիչարդ Մուրը հրաշալի հարաբերություններ ուներ Թուրքիայի նախագահ Էրդողանի հետ, ավելին, բրիտանական մամուլն ինքը նշում է, որ Մուրն Էրդողանի կուրատորն էր և Թուրքիայում բավականին մեծ ազդեցություն ուներ, իսկ 44-օրյա պատերազմից հետո ստանձնել է նաև Հայաստանի գործող վարչապետի և նրա թիմի կուրացիան՝ փաստացի բրիտանական շահերն առաջ մղելով Հայաստանում։

Պաշտոնական Լոնդոնը բավականին մեծ ախորժակ ունի Հարավային Կովկասի մասով, և Փաշինյանն էլ դեմ չէ դառնալ բրիտանական գործիք։ Ի դեպ, ըստ որոշ տեղեկությունների, Հայաստանի արտաքին հետախուզական ծառայությունն էլ ամբողջությամբ գտնվում է բրիտանական MI6-ի վերահսկողության տակ, իսկ այդ ծառայության ղեկավար Քրիստինե Գրիգորյանը, նրա տեղակալներն ու աշխատակիցները համապատասխան վերապատրաստումն անցնում են բրիտանացիների զգոն հայացքի ներքո։ Եվ այժմ ծագումով վրացի կնոջը, այս ծառայության ղեկավար նշանակելով՝ Լոնդոնն ակնարկում է, որ բավականին լուրջ հետաքրքրություններ ունի թե՛ Հարավային Կովկասում և թե՛ Մերձավոր Արևելքի մեծ տարածաշրջանում։ Թե ինչպես կընթանան Հայաստանի գործող իշխանությունների և բրիտանացի տիկնոջ հարաբերությունները դեռ վաղ է խոսել, բայց այն, որ Հայաստանի համար նոր խնդիրներ են առաջանալու, որևէ մեկը կասկած չունի։
