«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Դեռևս անցած տարեսկզբին գրել էինք, որ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը ցանկանում է ինչ-որ «շարժումներ» ձևավորել, ակցիաներ ու հանրահավաքներ իրականացնել՝ ընդդեմ Ամենայն հայոց կաթողիկոսի, իսկ ավելի կոնկրետ՝ ընդդեմ Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու: Նման մտադրություն նա ունեցել է նաև նախկինում: Բայց այն ժամանակ նա խուսափեց գնալ այդ ճանապարհով՝ վախենալով հայ ժողովրդի բուռն հակազդեցությունից ու բախումներից:

Մեր ունեցած տեղեկություններով, Եկեղեցու դեմ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի ու քպական իշխանության հայտարարած պատերազմի շրջանակներում հնարավոր տարբերակ է դիտարկվում «ժողովրդին ոտքի հանելը»: Այսինքն, Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը կարող է փորձել հասնել Վեհափառի հեռացման՝ դարձյալ օգտագործելով «հանուն ժողովրդի» կեղծ թեզն ու փողոց հանելով իր փոքրաթիվ կողմնակիցներին: Պատահական չէր նախօրեի նրա գրառումը, թե «Եկեղեցին պատկանում է ժողովրդին, Եկեղեցին նույնպես պիտի վերադարձնենք ժողովրդին»: Ավելին, երեկ նա այսպիսի վտանգավոր գրառում է արել. «Հայաստանյայց Առաքելական Սուրբ Եկեղեցու հավատավոր հետևորդներին կոչ եմ անում համախմբվել Վեհարանը սիրով և քրիստոնեաբար ազատելու և որևէ իրապես սրբազան հոգևորականի Ամենայն հայոց կաթողիկոս ընտրելու օրակարգի շուրջ»: Սա շատերն են գնահատում որպես ինքնին սադրանքներ հրահրելու կոչ ու նախաձեռնություն:

Սակայն հաշվի առնելով, որ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը չնչին վարկանիշ ունի, իսկ հասարակության գերակշիռ մեծամասնությունը վստահ է, որ ոչ թե Կաթողիկոսը «պետք է ազատի Վեհարանը», այլ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը՝ կառավարության շենքը, ապա նման սադրանքները կարող են չափազանց լուրջ, նույնիսկ համահայկական ընդվզման պատճառ դառնալ՝ իր ծանր հետևանքներով: Ուստի, դժվար է ասել՝ Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցուն հայտարարված պատերազմի շրջանակներում կգնա՞ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը բախման՝ հանուն իր շահերի, թե՞, ամեն դեպքում, կզգուշանա:
